Why I want To Teach

Standard #9: Professional Learning and Ethical
Practice. The teacher engages in ongoing professional
learning and uses evidence to continually evaluate
his/her practice, particularly the effects of his/her
choices and actions on others (learners, families, other
professionals, and the community), and adapts practice
to meet the needs of each learner.

Reasons for Wanting to Teach

Why do I want to teach?

I want to make a difference in the lives of

children, all the while preparing them to have a
successful position in America as productive
and educated citizens.
Most can say that they have encountered a
good teacher. My goal is to epitomize it's
meaning and demonstrate those characteristics
daily.

Student Characteristics
What are the characteristics of the
students I want to teach?
I desire to reach a wide ranges of students. I plan to
be educated enough to meet the average child but
continue to work and learn to reach those who are
below average.

Having students that need me is essential I want to

serve as a positive role model and as someone who is
trust worthy. Along with that I don't want there to be a
doubt as to why I do what I do.

Community Characteristics
What are the characteristics of the
community where I want to teach?
Diversity is a major concern of mine. I feel that
we are all influenced by the company that we keep
that goes for students as well. Having a mixture of
different types of pupils helps students to become
more well rounded.

I have no preference of age, race, gender or

economic level.

Contributions to the Profession

How will I contribute to the
profession of teaching?
I plan to follow from the top. Having knowledge
of the goals of superintendents and school boards
will help for me to have a narrowed view of what
is expected of me as a quality teacher.

Having great knowledge of what is expected of

me straight form strong sources I will be able to
make a dramatic difference is a acceptable amount
of time.
