Aberdeen, SD 57401 May 6, 2015 To whom it may Concern: This letter of recommendation is for Amber Couch, who is applying for a teaching position at your school. Amber began her employment at our Center during the summer of 2014, as an instructor for our PreDiscovery Program. This program introduces new concepts through arts-based lessons that revolve around weekly themes for Children in preschool through Kindergarten. She was reliable, inventive with her plans and showed a great deal of flexibility with planning and execution of her daily lessons. She was a key influence on other instructors within the program. She effortlessly led children into new areas of thought and knowledge. Her flexibility in teaching and her ability to work in team situations was outstanding, no matter what curves each day might bring to existing daily plans. During the school year of 2014-15, she led a variety of themed visual art classes at our Center for youth who are 4-12 years of age. In each instance, she was fully prepared with lesson plans, examples, materials and media references to explain processes and concepts. After class sessions were completed, our organization requires participants to fill out evaluations of the classes they participate in. In each case, Amber was rated outstanding with a majority of evaluations requesting that she teach other classes. Ambers most notable characteristic is her interactions with students. She always takes the time to listen to each and every student who has something to say, yet can move along with her lesson in a timely manner. The children receive instruction with a nurturing attitude to guide them to the next skill level. She maintains a calm demeanor in chaotic situations, which models self-control for her students to mimic. I would highly recommend Amber for any teaching position within your school district. Judging from her employment with our organization, she promises to be a positive and outstanding member of your faculty. If you have any further questions concerning Amber and her employment with our department, please feel free to call me at 605-626-7081. Very Truly Yours, Lois J.
