WhatistheretodoinNorthridge?Thisquestionisnotassimpletoanswer,asitmay
seem.WakeParadiseisheretoanswerthequestion!TodescribeWakeParadiseinafew
wordswouldalmostbeimpossible.WakeParadiseisawaterparkmadeupofan
immensebodyofwater,LakeRidge,whichincludesthrillingactivitiesavailableforall
agestoenjoy.Noboat?Noproblem!WakeParadiseisbasedonwatersportssuchas
wakeboarding,waterskiing,tubing,andevenwakesurfing!Oursystemofcables
attachedtotowerssuspended38feetabovetheriderallowsthemtobepulledjustlike
beingpuledbehindaboatwiththetowercircling9acresofwaterpoweredbyanelectric
motor.Riderssimplyholdontothewaterskiropeliketheywouldbehindaboatandstart
offonthedockramp.Notonlydoweoffercableboatingservices,buttheotherportion
ofthelakeweintendtoallowfreeroamboatingaswell.Alongwiththeexcitingboating
activities,WakeParadiseoffersasafeprivatebeachwhereallagesarewelcome.The
privatebeachwillincludeatropicalsnackshack,akidsclubforthechildren,andaswim
upbarfortheadults.WakeParadisealsoprovidesanindoorstorageunitforboatsand
anyotherwatersportutilitiesforaverylowfew.Northridgehasneverbeenableto
experiencetheboatinglife,whichiswhywewanttostartatrendintheheartofthiscity!

Ourcorporationsmainpurposeforthisprojectistogivepeoplesomethingtodointhis
hotclimatecityandalsogiveoutsidersareasontocometotheSanFernandoValley!
SectionTwo:TheSpaceItself
OurprojectLakeRidgeisamanmadelakethatismeanttobeafun
environmentthatmanypeopleshouldnotbeabletotravelhardtohaveagoodtime.The
manmadelakewillhaveashorethatrunsallaroundthelake,whicheveryonecanhang
aroundtheshoreasifitwasabeach.Therewillbeacertainstretchonhowfaryoucould
swimoutontothelakebecausewewouldntwanttheboatstobeallovertheswimmers.
OurlocationwillbelocatedupinthemountainsoftheareaofPorterRanchrightbehind
thehomes.ThedriveupwillbealongroadthatleadsuptoLakeRidgepassingthe
homes.AtthebottomofthehilltherewillbeasignsayingLakeRidge2milesahead.
Furthermore,asyouarrivetherewillbeaverylargeparkinglotandtotherightofitthere
willbealargeshack.Theshackwillhaveawalkupwindowtoorderyourfood,andwe
willbeservingallkindsoffastfoodalsowewillhavebeveragesandalcoholbecauseour
maintargetaudienceareyoungadults.Ontheothersideoftheshacktherewillbeafront
deskwhereyoucheckin,pay,andreceiverentals.Theshackwilllooklikeactualbeach
shackstoreminisceabeachgetaway.Theoutsidewillhaveashadedareawithbenches
andtables.Asyouwalkintotheshackthewallswillbepaintedwithasoftyellow
becausethepersonalitywewanttoportrayforourbusinessistohaveafun,relaxing
time.Itwillbealittlevacationwithouttravelingsofar.Also,totheleftoftheparkinglot
nearthelakeiswherewewillstoreallofourequipmentforthelake.

Thelakeisamanmadelakewithadockononesideofthelakeandtherestwill
beopentothepublictojustrelaxaroundthere.Therewillbecertainsectionsonthelake
whereyoucanuseajetskiandtherestofthelakewillbefortheboatsdrivenbyour
staffsothateveryonecanhavefun.Additionally,ourboatswillhavelargespeakersto
playmusic,aminifridge,luxuriousseatingaboardtheboat.
SectionThree:SpacePlan&Development
Everyone:Youngadults(ages1825.)Thisisourtargetaudiencealthough
everyoneiswelcome.MainlyforstudentsattendingCSUNsincethereisnootherwater
parkinNorthridge.Therewillbekiddieareaswithcaretakerssothatyoungadultswith
childrencanenjoytheirtimeatLakeRidge.
Demographictraitsthatwillmakeourspacesuccessful:youngadultsenjoyplaces
suchasoursandthereisntanyplacelikeLakeRidgearoundNorthridge.Withaman
madelake,minibars,andfunactivitiesdaily,peoplethatattendCSUNwillenjoy
hangingoutatLakeRidgeandpromotingourbusinesstherightwaywillmakeit
successful.Therewillbedrinkinglimitsforthesafetyofyoungadultsandchildren.Our
businessisbeingmadetocreateasocial,fun,andrespectfulenvironment.
Behavioraltraitsamongstourcompanyareassumedtoberespectful,mature,and
appreciativeofourspaceprovidedforyoungadultstosocializeandhaveagoodtimeina
safeenvironment.Therewillbecustomersthatchoosetogoagainstourrulesandwith
thissaid,therewillbesecurityinourfacilitytocontrolmishapssuchasthis.
Ourindustrywillthriveintheareawechooseduetothefactthattherearenoother
competitivecompaniesaroundthisareabesidesHurricaneHarbor.SouthernCalifornias

weatherwillhelpourcompanyssuccess.Duetothewarmweather,ourbusinessdays
willbemostofthedaysoutoftheyear.TheareaofNorthridgeisverypopulated.LA
Timesstatesthatin2008,61,993peoplewererecordedtobelivinginNorthridge.Not
onlywillpeoplefromNorthridgeattendourmanmadelake,butsowillpeoplelivingin
theSanFernandoValleywhichishometo1,435,854people,alsostatedbyLATimes.
Thetrendsthatwillinfluenceourspacewillbethefun,entertaining,andsocial
environmentthatourbusinesswillprovideforyoungadults/collegestudents.Peoplein
thatagegroupenjoyhavingagoodtimeandlovemeetingnewpeople.Ourbusinesswill
bringmanypeopletogetherinasafeandfunway.Thetrendingwillbeongoingdueto
youngadultsalwayswantingahangoutplacesuchasourbusiness.
Collegestudentswillalwaysdreamofhavingthatfunsocialchaoticlife,our
businessandgivethemthatbutinasafeway.Thiswillcontinueourtrendingofour
business.Ourcustomerswillbesurroundedwithpeoplewhohavethesameinterestsand
alsobeinasafeenvironmentduetooursecurity.
Thenegativeareaswewillfaceinthisbusinesswillbetheweather,economy,the
amountofpeoplethatattendatatime,thesupplieswehaveavailable(intertubes,lounge
chairsetc.)MuchlikethebarriersHurricaneHarborhas.
Section 4: Competition
Apple started as a new company that had very tough competitors such as IBM and
yet it still came out to be one of the most well preformed companies in today's
technology market. When any new business plans to enter a market there are some few
things that a business must do if it will perform well in the future when entering. Lake
Ridge has the tools to perform well and be a very profitable business. Great success will

always bring competition in a capitalist type society. Some of other businesses we have to
look out for are Knott's Berry Farms Raging Waters, Magic Mountains Hurricane
Harbor, and Paradise Wake.
Lake Ridge specifically plans to attract people who live in the valley because
there is a demand for it. This will give us a competitive edge because we will be located
in Porter ranch, which is only 27.1 miles north of Los Angeles as compared to Hurricane
Harbor, which is 36 miles north of Los Angeles. Raging Waters is just south of Los
Angeles roughly the same distance as Lake Ridge. Out of 9.9 million people that live in
the Los Angeles County we will be the closest entertainment place that will offer many
enjoyments that Lake Ridge can provide only ensuring that there will be customers for
our business.
A SWOT Analysis is when a business performs evaluation upon its Strengths,
Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats. Lake Ridge has conducted a SWOT Analysis
and came with the results that as a Strength we are the only place locally to have a Lake
in the area with a lot of entertainment to offer, no other competitors have anything close
to a lake. Our Weakness is in the state of California we are under a drought, but Lake
Ridge plans to build a man made lake that we will import from our neighboring states.
The Opportunities presented to us is that in the summer months during the year we will
be the busiest. Some Threats that we will come to face is that we plan to close on rainy
days. With our results we have came up with a target audience that will fit our specific
needs.
Our target audience will be young adults between the ages of 18 - 25. Lake Ridge
has specifically chosen this group because we plan to appeal to the colleges and

Universities located within the area. Lake Ridge will have many activities to do and
places to hangout. Some of the things offered there is surf boarding and wake riding, we
will also have bars for those who choose to just hang out. No other water-based
entertainment parks will not be able to provide the same type of fun Lake Ridge will be
able to offer.
Section 5: Marketing
We will be located in Porter Ranch, California and we chose that location because
it has a vast area of forestry and land that will serve a great spot for us to build our lake. It
will be a great place for a lake since most lakes are located in the mountainous areas.
Since there will be a lake and it will be fairly close to some residential homes in the area,
we will create an increase in real estate value of the city. This creates an incentive for not
only possible future investors but also for the city of Porter Ranch. Not only will we
improve the real estate but we will also look forward to helping the environment. For
every tree we have to take down we will plant 1.5 trees in creating a better environment
in the city as well.
Some advertisements we will be doing are in the local Universities of the area.
Some of theses campus includes California State University of Northridge, University of
California of Los Angeles, Mount Saint Mary, and University of Southern California.
Although we are not limited to just these options these schools will be our primary
targets.
Some of the things we will use are Television commercials because this is a great
way to appeal to many potential customers. The mall will be a great place to put up builds
boards. Also having representatives at the schools will be of great importance. All these

techniques will only ensure our prosperity of the Lake Ridge. Our marketing techniques
will be efficient.
Section6:SpaceOperations
TheoccupationsthatWakeIslandwillcreatevaryfromlicensedprofessionals
andcustomerservicejobs.Licensedprofessionalsthatwewillneedarelifeguards,boat
drivers,andalsoprofessionalteachers.Thelifeguardswillbetheretowatchover
customersastheyareenjoyingthemselvesandhavingagreattime.Lifeguardsarealso
theretoensureasenseofsafety;somethingourcompanyisastrongbelieverabout.The
professionalboatdriversaretheretoassistthecustomersingettingtheirwakeboarding
activitystarted.Withoutthem,thisactivitywouldnotbepossible,sothisisavery
importantjob.Wealsoprovideprofessionalteachersthatwillhelp"newbies"get
accustomedtowakeboarding.Theseteacherswillhelpanyoneinthisparkwhoiswilling
tolearn,anyageandlevelofwakeboarding.WakeIslandwillalsocontainmany
customerservicejobs.Wewillhaveavarietyoffoods,snacks,andsouvenirshopsthat
willneedcashiers,cooks,andjanitors.TheseemployeesatWakeIslandwillensurea
greattimeforourcustomers!
Section8:Conclusion
WakeIslandwouldnotonlybringtheNorthridgecommunitytogether,butgive
purposeandlifetothecityaswell!MakingthecityofNorthridgeknownforsomething
awesomelikethiswouldmuchratheristhoughtaboutinsteadofthe1995earthquake.By
allowingallagestoenjoyLakeRidgewhetheritiswakeboardingorloungingonthe
beach,everyoneisabletoseekthrillorrelaxation!BysimplyimplantingtheWakeIsland
project,thecityofNorthridgewouldseeachangeforthebetter.
