Primarily starting in the 19th century man made pollutants have filled the air. Researchers
suggest that the cost of making ecofriendly changes now as opposed to later could save not only
billions of dollars but human lives. In the 20th century is when scientists started noticing how
green house gas emissions, as well as other pollutants could affect the populations health and
spending budget. During the beginning of Obamas presidency he failed to make any changes to
our current emission or lack of. Due to the fact that all areas engulfed in not only cold but icy
conditions are melting could easily form a rising water level problem. It is speculated that this
climate issue is severe enough, it could cause extinction. The danger comes not just from
emissions but from deforestation, the movements of species by humans and the resulting
isolation of habitats and species unable to cope with drastic environmental changes, says
Elizabeth Kolbert, a New York writer (CQ Researcher). Scientists worldwide are searching for
logical ways to create and harness less damaging power sources such as wind and water. The
general public is widely unaware of the fact that climate change is a potentially life changing
issue. There are many contributing factors that play a role in climate change.
Climate change is a progressing issue. Because of its potential to affect so many aspects
of human life, it could be considered the world's most important development issue today. The
world's rich countries, which industrialized many decades ago, are mainly responsible for setting
the problem in motion. But the poorest communities and countries will be hardest hit, since they
are typically more vulnerable to increased floods, food shortages, disease, droughts, and other
fluctuating climatic changes, and don't have the means to cope adequately. Many progressive
gains could even be reversed because of climate change, leaving more people in poverty. This
topic could be a real eye opener and help people understand more about the complex planet we
live on. It could directly affect not only people in other countries that are poverty stricken but
here in America. A large contributing factor of negative climate change is deforestation which
takes place constantly in this area. It is unclear to many people the ways climate change could
affect anything in their live or that its even an important issue. By educating the right people
could change the lives that we are a custom to and potentially change the entire future for
generations to come!
