Welcome Happy Morning

VU 161

Welcome, happy morning! Age to age shall say,

Hell today is vanquished, heaven is won today:
Come then, True and Faithful, now fulfil your word,
This is your third morning: rise, O buried Lord!
*Passing of the Peace
*The Call to Worship:
People of God, today we hear the words "all", "everyone",
and "equity". Take a moment now as we begin our worship
to remember these things. God intervenes in the world
with righteousness and equity, everyone can be born of
God. God's Spirit does not select a few but falls on all who
hear God's word, God's love extends to everyone. With
these promises ringing loudly in our consciousness, we
enter this house and this community knowing that God
is eternally generous and we are all welcome here.

*The Opening Prayer:

O God, we open our mouths to praise you - you open our
spirits to receive you. We open our minds to learn of your
ways - you open our wills to follow. We open our hands to
serve you - you open our hearts to love you. We are open
to your mystery, O God; make yourself known in us this
day, praying your prayer:
Our Father, who art in heaven...

We Respond to Gods Word

Offering Invitation
*Response: Your Work O God Needs Many Hands

VU 537

Your work, O God, needs many hands to help you

everywhere, and some there are who cannot serve unless our
gifts we share.
Because we love you and your work, our offering now we
make; be pleased to use it as your own, we ask for Jesus
sake.

*The Prayer of Dedication:

Self-sacrificing God, we bring this offering as support for the
ongoing work of establishing your reign of love and justice,
kindness and mercy upon our earth. Use it, and use us, we
pray, according to your loving wisdom and intent for life
in all its fullness for every person. AMEN!
Prayers of the People
*Hymn:

Lord, Speak to Me

*Commissioning & Blessing

*Sung Blessing: Go Now in Peace
Go now in peace, never be afraid,
God will go with you each hour of everyday.
Go now in faith, steadfast, strong and true.
Know he will guide you in all you do.
Go now in love and show you believe,
Reach out to others so all the world can see.
God will be there watching from above,
Go now in peace, in faith and in love.

United Church Response to Nepal Earthquake:

The United Church of Canada is calling for prayer and welcoming
donations for Nepal Earthquake Relief in response to the 7.8
magnitude earthquake that hit the south Asian country on April 24.
The United Church has contributed $7,500 from its Emergency
Response Fund to ACT Alliance to provide emergency aid in
Kathmandu and surrounding areas. The Canadian government
will match, dollar for dollar, donations to registered Canadian
charities (including the United Church) made between April
25 and May 25.
Pray: We pray for the people of Nepal, tens of thousands of
whose lives have been suddenly and violently shattered, their
loved ones, homes, and livelihoods lost. We also pray for the
Nepalese who are now living in Canada, in particular members of
Knox United Church in Winnipeg, and for those Canadians whose
loved ones were in Nepal when the earthquake struck and are still
waiting to hear if they are safe.
Donate: For information on how to donate, see poster on
your bulletin board or on the United Church website:

Global Mission and Service

Miracles of Community
Jubilee House, supported by the National Church Womens
Association of Mission and Service partner the Presbyterian
Church in the Republic of Korea, works with vulnerable children,
youth, women, and seniors by caring for body and soul, planting
seeds of hope, and sharing the love of God.
Child care is a priority for low-income, single-parent, and
grandparent-headed families. The Green Dream Childrens Centre
at Jubilee House meets that priority, including study support
programs for older children. An innovative program has children
from the centre visiting isolated seniors. The goal of all Green
Dreams programs is to help children and youth grow into happy,
well-grounded, and community-oriented adults.
The Womens Centre of Jubilee House offers counselling and
practical support to survivors of domestic violence to help them reestablish lives in the aftermath of trauma. The Sharing Mission
Centre focuses on low-income seniors and child-headed
households. With help from 290 Korean churches, in 2013 this
centre supplied 543 households with traditional Korean kimchi
(pickled cabbage).
Says Jubilees Director the Rev Park Hee-Jin, We always thank
God for the support of The United Church of Canada. Your
prayers and support make possible the miracles of sharing the
community of God.
Our gifts for Mission and Service help to share the love of God in
Korea. Please join me and continue to give generously.

Mighty and tender God, our gifts to M&S help your church
to do justice, love kindness, and walk humbly with you.
