INTRODUCTION
As I read the letters from my great grandfather I was surprised that his life was full of
adventurous, traveling over seas and the most interesting thing that surprised me was that he
actually participated in WW1 or was ordered to attend it. But it was very sad because many people
he met they ended up dying. But there always the positive thing he has told me like helping out our
country and protecting so no one can harm us.
TRENCH WARFARE
My grandpa has told me that were they stayed was called a Trench, he said that it was covered with rats.
These rats were know as the trench rats because they cause the soldiers to have a feet disease that began
rotten. Because the rats eat wasted and they pass by and bite them.
The rats that lived with soldiers were incredibly big because they were feeding off of the dead bodies of
soldiers which remained in the trench. The place was muddy, filled with vermin and insects and smelled
rotten because of the dead bodies. The soldiers hadnt bathed or shaved lived together in their own filth for
months at a time.
Since by 1890 , Germany had the strongest military in the nation, German
built up a navy to rival Englands fleet and it had attracted many nations
such as Italy, France, Japan and United State. Therefore , nations like Ital
France, Japan and United quickly joined in the naval buildup.
The triple alliance was before world war l between Italy, Germany and Austria-
The triple Entente was military alliance formed before world war I had began, it was alliance between
Great Britain, France and Russia.
Germany were very greedy, since they had the strongest military they thought they were the best and
so they didnt share any of their power.
Ohio Von Bismarck was the one who was behind the war.
On January 1917 the British obstructed a telegram that was from the German government to the
Mexican government by offering the Germans support by offering Mexico a return land, if they
declared war against the US.
The main purpose of living in the trench was that the soldiers in the trench are protected from being
shot.
Trench provided cover from rifle and machine gun fire and allowed the defenders better accuracy at
charging infantry.
The Trench also allowed better communication between their army and safety when patrolling their side
or when an enemy is coming by. Originally dug as temporary ditches, they became very advanced as
the battles progressed. It protected many great soliders from getting shot but it also has it causes.
