Intentions

What does our local government do?

You will be working in small groups (3 or 4 students) to create a mind map
related to the local government.
You are required to research information (using the online sources provided) to
complete a mind map about the roles our local government has and the services
it provides.
You are required to research online resources and use a mind-mapping software
tool.
*Extension: discuss within your group what the world would be like if the
government didnt provide the services you have included in your mind-map.
Your mind-map needs to include the following:
Name and type of government
The different roles the local government has
The various services provided by the government
The benefits of each of those services to the community

Assessment:
You will be assessed on:
Keywords - appropriate terminology related to Civics and Citizenship content.
Relevance and accuracy of the information.
Correct sentences, grammar and punctuation.
Presentation creativeness, effectiveness and clarity.
