Unit: Volleyball
Lesson: Volleyball league play
Equipment: Volleyballs, nets, white board, dodge balls
Class Goals for the Day:

Psychomotor- During popcorn, TSW perform quality bumps, sets and serves 4 out of 5 times without
letting the ball hit the ground twice before next hit.
Cognitive- During volleyball games, TSW keep track of their own score, showing that they are competent
in understanding the rules
Affective- During the lesson, TSW demonstrate good sportsmanship through no complaining and having
fun.

Attendance lines
WARM-UP: Trench ball
2 teams
20 dodgeballs
No head shots
Get hit, go behind opposing team (trench)
Opposing team cannot enter the trench
Must catch the ball to re- enter
Can make basket to let everyone back
Can block throws with ball
Caught by opponent results in thrower heading to trench

TRANSITION: back in attendance lines

ACTIVITY #1: popcorn


Groups will circle up
Start with one ball
Underhand serve to start
Choose to bump or set

TRANSITION:
TSW sit around the volleyball court
6 demonstrators
3 hits per side
Can go out of bounds to get a ball
Service scores
Rotate every time you regain service

ACTIVITY #2: League play


Game the rest of the time

TRANSITION: Head up stairs and grab packets


ACTIVITY #3
Teams 1 and 4 weight room
Teams 2 and 3 cardio
Switch half way
