Personal Scarlet Letter

What is your identification? In one word or characteristic, how would you classify yourself?
In The Scarlet Letter, Hester Prynne is publicly punished for her sin of adultery. She is forced to wear a scarlet A on
her clothing. As you have read, the townspeople often used this opportunity to mock her and use her as an example of
wrong-doing.
Your project is to create your own personal scarlet letter. You can make it of any material except 2D paper and
you have to wear it on the front of your clothing ALL day on Wednesday, February 18th. Using the chart below, have
your teachers sign off on each period stating you wore your letter and record others responses and comments to your
letter. On February 19th, you will write a reflection and participate in a discussion using your comment sheet.
