In keeping with current practice in standards published by the International Organization for Standardization
(ISO), a comma has been used throughout as the decimal marker.

Foreword
This standard has been prepared by Technical Committee Ventile of the Normenausschuss Druckgasanlagen (Pressure Vessels Standards Committee).
Amendments
This standard differs from the February 1990 edition in that it has been completely revised and the numbering
system for outlet connection identification has been changed so that the former nos. 50 to 53 are now nos. 54
to 60.
Previous editions
DIN 477-5: 1972-11, 1979-09, 1990-02.
All dimensions are in millimetres and general tolerances are t 0,1 mm.

Scope

This standard covers outlets of gas cylinder valves rated for test pressures up to 450 bar, and designed for
use with gases and gas mixtures of the types described in table 1.
By specifying the type of outlet to be used for each type of gas, this standard aims to preclude errors
occurring when gas cylinders are filled or emptied.
Valves for respiratory protective devices are covered in DIN EN 144-2.
