insects, and fish by their characteristics.

Student Objectives:
1. The students will learn about classifying animals based on characteristics and body
parts. Students will also observe the animals and describe why they put them into
each group.
2. The students will participate in a smartboard lesson. The students will have to
match the classification with the animal and match the classification with the
definition.
3. The students will go on a safari hunt at their table and they will classify plastic
animals at their seat. The students will write down the animals under the correct
name and will get to draw their favorite animal at the end.

the specific page. They will then draw a
picture of their favorite animal on each
