Thewholepurposeofthisprojectistolearnmoreaboutatypeofengineering.Throughout
thiswholeproject,therewerealotofaccomplishments.Oneofthoseaccomplishmentswas
thefactthatdifferentUniversitiesmakeyoutakesomedifferentclasses,butmostofthe
classesarethesame.Thisprojectispreparingthestudentsbereadyforcollegeandtheirlife
aftercollege.Itpreparesthemtomaketherightdecision.

makethemlearn.Italsopreparesthestudentstobereadyforcollegeandaftercollege.

everyengineermusttake.SomecoursesforthisdegreeareEnglish,Scienceanddifferent
mathclasses.Specificscienceclassesthatyouhavetotakeare(ChemistryFreshman
Year,PhysicsforscientistandEngineers,PhysicsII).SomespecificMathclassesare(
CalculusI,CalculusII,
AppliedProbabilityandStatisticsforEngineers).SomespecificEnglish
classesare(FreshmanCompIandII,TechnicalCommunication).Ofcoursetheresallofthe
civilengineeringclassesyouneedlike(Introtocivilengineer,SteelDesign,Structural
Analysis).Someclassesmightdependonthecollegeyouattend,theymighthavedifferent
classes.OfcourseifyoudecideyouwanttochangethetypeofEngineeringitwon'tbethat
hardbecausemostengineerstakethesamebasiccourseclasses.

Job Description

Civilengineeringdealswiththedesign,constructionandmaintenanceoftheenvironment.
Engineershelpdesignandplanbuildingsandprivateprojects.AcivilEngineerwillneedvery
goodmathskills,andknowhowtodesignbuildings.Somesubcategoriesaretransportation,
theydealwithroads,bridges,canals,railways.AnothercategoryisMaritimetheydealwith
ports,harbours,andseadefences.Theresmanymorecategoriesandbranchesofcivil
engineering.Adescriptionofajobrightaftercollegemightbesimilartothefollowing,
performingcivilengineeringdesigncalculations,detailingandplansetproductionfor
transportation,waterandwastewaterprojects.A515yearsofexperiencejobmightlooklike
somethinglikethefollowing,designingfromstarttofinishofprojectsforwater,sewer,
drainage,pavingandsitelayout.A15+experiencejobwilllooklikesomethinglikethis,
ManagetheEngineeringandInspectionDepartmentsbyperformingalargevarietyof
technical,administrative,ResponsibleforDistrictwidefloodplainmanagement.Thisjobisthe

Dependingonthelocationwhereyoulive,youllgetmoreorlessjoboffers.Sometypeof
engineeringareonlyneededinacertainareas.Accordingto(appendixA),itshowsthatthe
factthattheresmorepercentageofemploymentformytypeofengineeringmeansthere
wouldbealotofjobswhereyoucanget.Youcouldneverrunoutofcivilengineers,wewill
alwaysneedthemnomatterwhat.Butotherengineersitalldependsontheearth,thetime,
etc.Thisisagoodsignformeandanyonethatwantstobeacivilengineer.

Dependingonthetypeofengineering,youcouldgetabigdifferencefrombachelorstophd.
ButforCivilEngineeringitdoesntmakethatmuchofadifferenceifyouhaveabachelorsora
phd,causeattheendthey'relookingattheyearofexperience.Itmightgiveyouathousand
moredollarsperyearbutitsnotthatmuchofadiffencebetweeenthetypeofeducation..At
theendofthedayiwouldgoforthebachelor'sdegreeandworkyourwayup,workhard.

Engineerscangetpaiddifferentlydependingontheirlocation.Consideringthecostofliving
fromAustintoLasVegas(appendixc).Youaregettingpaidalmostthesame.Ipersonally
wouldratherworkinAustin,thiscityisgrowingandalotofbuildingsaregettingbuild.Youget
paidmoreinLasVegasbutthecostoflivingismoreexpensiveinLasVegasthanAustintx.
Alsotakethefactthatdifferentlocationshavedifferentcostofliving.

Results
Theobjectivesforthisprojectwerewellaccomplished.Theobjectiveswastolearnandknow
aboutCivilEngineering,andthatwasachieved.Someimprovementsthatcouldbemadefor
thefuturenoticeisthefactthatsometypeofengineeringareharderoreasiertosearch
about.Thisprojectcanhelpmechooseacollegeinthefuture,helpmechoosealocationto
liveat.Myresultswereclosetomyinitialstatedpurpose.

Conclusion
Throughoutthisprojectivelearnedthatdifferentlocationscanmakethecostoflivinghigher
orlower.Ivealsolearnedthatduringcollegeyouhavetotakemoremathandphysics
classesthanothersubjects.DifferentareashavedifferentdemandofCivilengineering.This
activitywasallaboutmakingyouresearchdifferentaspectsaboutCivilEngineering.This
projecthasmadeyouabetterdecisionmakingperson
