If you dream of a modern India, caste based reservation needs to be done away

with.....reservation is not needed for a persons surname. If you want to elevate

society give facilities to the poor. Reservation in educational institutes will not
bring up the mental level of an individual...and it demotivates the so called
unprivileged ones from working hard. For example, one of my colleagues is from
IIT where he got reservation in the SC category. Now he earns 1 lakh per month
and this year he got admission into IIM with a meagre 90 percentile whereas
people with 99.9 percentile do not get in just because they are from the general
category. On what grounds does this gentleman need reservation? Someone
earning 1 lakh rupees per month is definitely not underprivileged.

Sorry Mr Modi, but if your government is as progressive as you say, then it will
definitely do away with caste based reservation.
