NOTIFICATION
S.R.O.
(1)/2004. In exercise of the powers conferred by
sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Civil Servants Act, 1973 (LXXI of 1973), the
President is pleased to direct that the following further amendment shall be made
in the Fundamental Rules, namely:
In the aforesaid Rules, in Appendix 9 in Volume II, for rule 9 the
following shall be substituted, namely:
9.
The study leave should be granted with due regard to the
exigencies of the public service. In no case should the grant of this
leave, in combination with leave other than extraordinary leave or
leave on medical certificate, involve absence of a Government
servant for more than forty-eight months from regular duties, nor
should it be granted with such frequency as to remove him from
contact with his regular work or to cause cadre difficulties owing
to his absence on leave. The study leave if taken on different
occasions shall not exceed forty-eight months in entire service of a
Government servants.
