Get involved with an aKer-school ac7vity, but dont overload yourself

Concentrate on your academics, study skills, class prepara7on & 7me management

October

Take the SAT if applying to the US

Begin a8ending the university fairs and numerous representa7ve visits
Set up your porQolio you should be researching about 30 + universi7es at this stage

November

If applicable, take the SAT Subject Language with Listening Test

December

Take the SAT if you registered for the December date

January

Begin familiarizing yourself with the resources available in the University and Careers
Guidance Oce
Complete the student prole and return to the HE Oce

February

Register for the May SAT

Begin crea7ng a list of important factors/criteria for your university search and
exploring dierent majors/courses of study that match your career vision
A8end the Bri7sh Council Fair in Hong Kong
A8end the IDP (Australian) Exhibi7on in Hong Kong
Begin your research into summer programmes and internships

If applicable, register for the TOEFL test

Begin reviewing entrance requirements for universi7es that you are interested in

Take the SAT

Concentrate on draKing your personal statement
Begin narrowing down your university list; build a placement porQolio with your
university guidance counselor
Iden7fy two current Year 12 subject teachers for recommenda7ons ONLY if applying to
the US.

June

Take the SAT

Submit your rst essay draK to the HE Oce
Finalize your ini7al applica7on porQolio of universi7es/colleges
If you are planning to travel over the summer, arrange to visit some universi7es
Finalize your work placement. Applying to study Medicine for Law in the UK or HK?
Work experience is mandatory.
BMAT/LNAT/UKCAT and all that. Do you need to take an admissions test? Find out and
start preparing. Search the websites, register for the tests.
