Data Foundation
Overview

The FK&A Project Data Foundation provides an all-up SQL Server 2008 R2 or 2012 Analysis Services
Cube with all of your Project Server 2007, 2010, or 2013 data in one place, complete with KPIs and
portfolio information, ready for easy analysis and reporting. The Cube automatically adapts to
your Project Server configuration changes and includes all of your Enterprise Custom Fields.

For

and new Tabular cubes, which in turn
supports the new Power View Dashboards.
Built-in KPIs summarize many Project
performance attributes, including cost,
schedule, resourcing, risks, and so on.
Analyze data by Project Portfolio,
Department, Project lifecycle workflow
stage, Project Owner, and more.
Presents business-friendly organization of
information and column names.

The FK&A Dashboard Pack gets you running quickly with more than 150 Dashboards, all fed from
the FK&A Project Data Foundation Cube. They provide dynamic views of your data using BI tools
already bundled with SharePoint Enterprise and SQL Server, all displayed in a modular SharePoint
framework organized to fit the way your organization works with projects.
The Dashboards leverage the latest technologies PerformancePoint Analytic Charts and Grids,
Excel Services and Excel PowerPivot reports with slicers and KPIs, Reporting Services bubble
charts, Silverlight navigators, and new SQL Server 2012 Power View analyses to provide
interactive visual analysis of Project and Portfolio data from a variety of perspectives, including
Project KPIs and Baseline Status, Project Details, Project Manager Metrics, Portfolio Analysis,
Project Publishing Status, and many more.

Dashboard Navigators

Our Dashboard Navigators using Silverlight PivotViewer technology let you quickly sort and filter
types of Dashboards, and zoom to examine them in detail. Hyperlinks on the zoom-able images
jump directly to the live Dashboards.

Silverlight Deep Zoom Resource Explorer enables interactive visual analysis of the Project
Server Resource Pool and critical data, allows users to slice and dice by resource data to
answer critical business questions, provides Department, Role and other key resource attributes
as well as summary measures of work, capacity, availability, and the like. Use this to identify the
right team for a new project and many other scenarios. And yes, it even picks up their pictures
from their SharePoint profiles.

Composite Dashboard pages leverage SharePoint Web Parts to display PerformancePoint Analytic
Charts, Grids and KPIs, and Reporting Services bubble charts or traditional tabular reports. Click
to go full screen for any element, drill-in to data, and change chart and graph types on the fly.

Excel Dashboards published to Excel Services in SharePoint provide extra capabilities for advanced
users who can easily open them in Excel, save data-loaded snapshots locally, and even redesign the
report or publish variants. Dashboards in Excel PowerPivot let power users perform rapid real-time
analysis against large datasets,

according to categories that best fit your organization. For example, structure your Dashboard
classifications and navigation by Role, Management System, data topic (Project details, Portfolio
Analysis, Project Impact on Resources), etc. Surface summary information and cross-cutting
analyses at the Overview level and use the easily modified Highlights pages in each site to focus on
important takeaways.

quarterly basis, including information about the data elements they require.
Customers can also request Dashboards and Dashboard enhancements for
