Retired director furthers his cause

through social work

His motto: Prevention is better than Cure. He has his method of prevention and now, he is sharing it
through community work.

In a quiet neighborhood of Bukit Gombak, you will often see a

man with black martial arts pants, white sports shoes, white
polo tee, and a head full of white hair; in that neighborhood,
he is everywhere and everyone who walks past him would
wave at him as a form of greeting.
He used to give orders and tasks his employees to do their
jobs, now he does the jobs that is sidelined; social work. Mr
William Lee, 69, a retired director of Iwatech PTE LTD, now
sits on another board in Gui Lin RC, a stone throw away from
Xiao Gui Lin park.

resident who is now living a healthier
lifestyle than before. They are playing in the
recently renovated and refurnished Gui Lin
RC due to Mr Lees initiative.

He is strongly involved in the work of the RC as he believes

that one should live humbly and one should give to another
who is in need if he has more. He shared that his passive
income now is much more than his active income before but
he doesnt spend more than a hundred a month. He wants to
give back to the society and make a difference as a retired.

Strong in his belief of a healthy lifestyle, he lives it out and even wants everybody to share the same
benefits he gained from it. His firm belief in a healthy lifestyle is to have a healthy body, and a
healthy mind. So he is in charge of a group in the CC and its objective is to promote a healthy
lifestyle. He leads a sub group to jog every Thursday. He also teaches another sub group Tai Chi and
as a Tai Chi trainer himself, he has many students whom he has also influenced to be healthy
mentally.
It doesnt stop there; he is a passionate Chinese chess player and often plays with the members from
the many clubs in Bukit Gombak. He was even the manager of a Chinese chess team 10 years ago
and that team has a roster full of current national players, which unfortunately was disbanded due
to some internal issues. But still, with his passion for Chinese chess and his belief that one should be
mentally healthy, he is setting up another interest group and this time its for Chinese chess.
The launch will be on Feb 2015 in Gui Lin RC and the event will be engaging many national and
graded players to play in a friendly match, and the match also features Francis Khew, the youngest
Chinese chess coach in Singapore and the many national players who will be invited.

He also believes in Yuan Shi Dian medicine and is excited to promote this to everyone. He exclaimed,
Its free, easy, and simple to understand. It also solves the root of the problem (sickness) unlike
western medicine which cuts away whats uncurable. He explained that it is a simple therapy that
requires two people to do (the sick, and the massager). Its a massage technique that requires one to
understand the different points in a persons body and its a breakthrough in Chinese medicine but is
not getting the recognition it should get. This is due to societys preference over western medicine
and he wants to change that.
Kelvin Lee Jun Loong, 21, a National Service man who frequents Bukit Gombak to play Chinese chess
commended Mr William Lee for his efforts, Its inspiring that Lao Li volunteers his services to the RC
to serve the residents residing in his community. It takes effort, dedication, and determination to get
involved in the planning and execution of events. Lao Li doesnt let age affect him, affect his
willingness to serve, and he believes that he is giving back to the community in his personalized way.
Why go to a doctor when we have the best doctor in our body? That doctor is our immune system
and getting it to rid potential sicknesses in our body is a constant job of keeping your mind and body
healthy. However, people still get sick, this is why I have a solution that has results but is not proven
by the medical field; its a treatment that will even cure stage 4 cancers and its name is Yuan Shi
Dian medicine. I want to share these with everyone and I am starting with where I am now. He
shared enthusiastically.
