The Fianna were under the rule of one great captain or
chief called Cumhal. A tribe of the Fianna named the Clan Mornarose in rebellion against Cumhal. They defeated and slew him at the battle of Cnucha. They spoiled him of the Treasure Bag of the Fianna Cumhal's wife bore him two sons called Tulcha and Demna. His mother gave him to a Druidess. She took him into the wild woods. Named Finn the Fair One after winning at hurling Finn gathered round him a band of youths, famous for exploits. Forced to escape because news of him and suspicion shrouding him reached trackers Finn arrives at the settling place of his uncle Finn presents the Bag of Fianna he plundered en route Finn did not deem that the time had come for him to seize the captaincy of the Fianna until he had perfected himself in wisdom and learning. He went to learn wisdom and the art of poetry from Finegas. Finn becomes leader of the Fianna One day, Finn met a magical doe when he was hunting and she transformed into a woman. They fell in love and she became pregnant She gave birth to a boy called Oisn
Oisn grew up to be a leader of the Fianna
One day he is seen by a Fairy Queen Niamh, who asks him to leave his land and come with her. Oisin leaves with Niamh and she has three children Oisin rides for one day to his old lands. Centuries have passed there. To return to Niamh he must always remain on the horses back He comes across locals who tell him Finn and the Fianna are old legends Oisin falls off his horse and becomes an ancient man St Patrick visits Oisin and writes down his tale
Oisin refuses to join Christ and joins Finn and the Fianna in The Land of the Young when he dies.
