The design is inspired by the flow of water or

waves since the structure is situated above an
artificial lake. It is a modernist type of architecture
with a touch of classy dark laminated and panelled
wood, and stoneworks. Natural light passes through
the skylight roofing and through the wall-frame
windows which gives the interior a seaside feeling. It
also gives the interior a sense of open space. Overall,
the structure itself suggests the flowy form of a wave
because of the variation of height of the structures
and their roofs.

Paradise in Highlands: A Wave House

The name Crest Manor can be also

defined as wave house. Crest is the highest
part of a wave since the structure is situated in
high grounds and was mainly elevated atop of
a waterform. Manor was used instead of
mansion since the house features grandeur with
a splash of modern and classic architecture.

Water

is peaceful. I am at rest. In the

water, I am safe and pulled in where I
can't get out. Everything slows down-the
noise and the racing of my thoughts.

The wavy form of the roof suggests relaxation

and conveys serenity since its purpose is for
recreation. The curves in the roof, as well as the high
ceiling, improves the cross ventilation.
A man-made waterfalls is also present. It uses the water from
the lake and at the same time cleans and filters the water for
the living creatures in the man-made lake. The waterfalls
also keeps the surrounding air cool and humid.

The hanging garden at the roof deck was inspired by the

Hanging Gardens of Babylon.

The light blue reflected by the sky and dark wood of the
buttress complement each other, thus, balancing the
colors of the resthouse.

The grand windows made of two-way glass

reflect the sky which give the rest house bluish
color like that of the water.

Design features
Living room is situated on the left wing of the
resthouse, and master bedroom is directly
above it.
Small lounge is setup right outside the master
bedrooms.
Stairs diverge to two parts; going to the left
wing and going to the right wing. The
hanging garden is placed in the middle
since it is the lowest part of the structure.
Kitchen and dining area is at the right wing
of the rest house.
Dining table faces the biggest window,
giving ta nice view while eating.
Two additional bedrooms are elevated 0.6m
from the floor, giving the bedrooms a full
sized window.
