What should I do in Ms. Riveras class?
1. Show homework completed to Teacher at the door.
2. Enter the room quietly and find your seat.
3. Check board/chrome-book for learning objective and homework, write it down in your Agenda

4. Take out your notebook and wait for instructions.
5. Raise your hand if you want to:

Ms. Riveras Classroom Expectations/Rules:
1. Respect! Respect yourself, others and all property
2. Always come to class prepared to learn with: Science Notebook,2 pencils, 2 pens, erasers,
highlighters, agenda and a good attitude
3. Follow all school rules
4. Bring non-flavored bottled water if you are thirsty.
Earning Your Grade:
The following is a breakdown of the grading policy:
A = 90-100 %
ASSESSMENTS = 65% of grade
B = 80-89 %
LABS
C = 70-79 %
Projects
D = 60-69 %
Vocabulary Quizzes
F = 0-59 %
Semester Finals

ASSIGNMENTS = 35% of grade

Science Notes
Keep all of your science notes in your science journal. Notes will be checked and graded daily!
Safety/Technology/Labs
1. All students will be required to follow safety rules during labs or whenever technology is being
used. All students must handle all equipment carefully. Any damage and/or destruction of property
will result in a monetary debt being charged into the students account and suspension of technology
use.
2. Science Labs are a hands-on component of this class and count as tests. Labs groups will be
graded by the following criteria: Following Directions, Working Together, Completing the Lab
(Accurate data collection, analysis, results and write up).
Assignments, Tests and Quizzes
All assignments and note taking are very important to the success of a student on assessments. It is
the students responsibility to finish all assignments and notes prior to taking any tests. Failure to do
so may lead students to failing the assessments.
Absences (
It is all students responsibility to inquire, collect and complete any work assigned during the
students absence. (Absence=any time missed out of the classroom).
Final Exam
At the end of each semester there will be a final exam that covers everything learned over the
semester. There will be approximately a week of review to prepare before the test. All science
teachers are required to give the same final exam and make it worth 20% of your total grade.
