I Believe That I Am An Incredibly Amazing Title
In this day and age, countries are constantly converting to a more eco-friendly approach
in their actions. For example, Singapore has adopted all sorts of policies that specialize in energy
conservation, from tax punishments of the individuals who frequently use gas-guzzling engines
to requiring a permit in order to purchase a car (Webber). This has prompted an increase in the
demands of the environmentalists for America to go green. However, what most average people
caught up in the discussion do not understand, is the severe impacts that could arise by
destroying the industry in existence. For the survival of global industry and the status quo, the
governments should have no extent of responsibility for fostering green practices.
The boldly proclaimed models of environmentalists that predict surges of economic
growth upon converting to their bogus list of demands are unrealistic. The people rallying for a
change live in a world of make-believe; one where the dangers of global warming are drastically
over exaggerated and warped into a world ruining situation, and where a mere dime a day
donated by each person can solve every grievance. The environmentalists proclaim such based
on unreal models, which in turn are based on highly radical assumptions. It is time to come down
from the emotionally-driven, unlikely utopia of the romantics. (Samuelson)
Negative effects of a country going environmentally friendly are real and costly. For
example, going green saddles companies with the heavy financial burden of unsure investments,
which leads to job losses and companies crumbling, which then adds to the greater consequence

of the global economy failing. Furthermore, the individuals who make the statement that going
green is an occupation with relatively no time required could not be further from the truth. In
fact, what might seem like a few extra minutes a day, is actually 7,800,000,000 man-hours of
time per year. Additionally, one country going green has negative repercussions for practically
every other country in existence, as this is the era of a global economy. Summing it all up,
converting a country towards a green path has tremendous amounts of economic consequences
(Winters).
Continuing, the unrealistic claims and economic effects are accompanied by the fact that
most people will not put the time, nor the effort, to go green. Although a handful of manufactures
are on board with creating environmentally friends products, not all of the consumers are willing
to buy them. This boils down to the fact that individuals are selfish, looking after themselves
before the future of the world they live in. Humanity will continue not to buy various green
products because it might not be the most cost effective, or the most efficient, which does not sit
them at all. Further, going green is merely another added worry to the majority of adults, joining
their multitude of cares and concerns that are already too many to count. The fact is that going
environmentally friendly is not a path that individuals will jump towards any time soon, as it
does not necessarily produce an immediate beneficial product (Rogers).
In summation, the government should have no responsibility in implementing green
practices for a variety of reasons. These reasons being the unrealistic predictions of
environmentalists, the downfall of the global economy, and the fact that humanity will not
participate willingly. Therefore, in order to avoid harsh impacts, the status quo should be
continued and favored over implementing any environmentally friendly laws.
