Student Voice Research supports the understanding that Student Voice is one avenue through which students can explore and construct their own leat i, gain more control over the content, direction and method of learning and develop higher-order level thinking skills The research also shows that when schools engage Student Voice they create opportunities to facilitate a stronger sense of: membership, so that students feel more positive about school respect and self-worth, so that students feel positive about themselves self as learners, so that students are better able to manage their own progress in learning agency, so that students realise that they can impact on things that matter to them in school. (Fielding & Rudduck 2002) ‘Some of the ways ‘Student Voice’ looks and sounds at BPPS: ‘Students are responsible for their own learning and know how they learn best. ‘Students are able to set personal learning goals and know how to achieve them. Students are listened to in some aspects of curriculum planning. Students value each other as learners and can learn in a cooperative manner. Students are able to identify their own strengths and weaknesses as learners. Students are consulted in decision-making within the school.
