They started misbehaving when it came to making some of the
shapes and drawing them. This was due to the task being too difficult.
Next time I would organise isometric paper, so that it is easier and
less frustrating for them to draw the shapes they had created on the
geo-boards.

Today I started with my comprehension group. I designed the task to
be oral rather than written. This worked really well for the group as
they like talking, it also meant we were able to get through all the
questions.

Today I taught the year fours reading. The session generally went
well, I just needed to improve on my introduction; rather than just
jumping into it and reading. I could have managed the class better by
stopping students from calling out answers,. I could have handled
this better by praising another student for demonstrating the correct
skills. The students seemed to enjoy the activity especially the last
bit, as they could explain how seeds grow in any method they wanted
to- some did a play others drew the process.

Highlighting of words worked really well for this group as they were
able to read through, mark and discuss. As they had highlighted only
a few words it didnt distract from the text. Using only oral answering
wasnt as successful as they only wanted to share what they knew
instead of taking turns and building up answers. To solve this I called
out individual names and directed the questions to them to stop
everyone from calling out. Organising data through a hands on game
worked really well, the group were able to show off their knowledge
but at the same time cooperate as a group to share/compare ideas.
Overall it was a successful lesson, next time I would do half written
and half oral to reduce the conflict.
