Booker T. Washington vs. W.E.

B Du Bois
During the early progressive era, thousands of people lived separately because of their
skin color. Booker T. Washington and W.E.B Du Bois wrote compromises about African
Americans and white people living separate or together. In my opinion, W.E.B Du Bois had the
better compromise because he knew that Washingtons plan was to adjust to make white people
happy as if it was the black peoples right to do so. Du Bois believed in action and he took
initiative against segregation of blacks and whites to create a harmonious society.
