How Keerapat International School (KPIS) and
Mahidol International Demonstation School (MUIDS) differ?
The Keerapat International School and the Mahidol International Demonstration School
have different numbers of school days, vacation days, subjects, number of hours of studying, and
extra-curricular activities. The purpose of this research report is to find out the differences
between studying at MUIDS and KPIS. The importance of this research report is to find out
which international school has a better learning system for students. This research report used
four references and interviews. The two major sources are from the KPIS and the MUIDS
websites. First, all pages found in the KPIS website support and the purpose of this research.
Second, all information found in the MUIDS website are use to support my research which are
curriculum, school calendar, and students activities. Third, I interviewed some students from
KPIS and MUIDS to get information.
KPIS and MUIDS
There are two international schools that I researched on. An international school is
defined as a school that promotes international school education and to adopt curriculum such as
Cambridge International Examination or Edecel by following a national curriculum different
from that of the school country. Some International schools like Mahidol University International
Demonstration School and Keerapat International School Thailand. The MUIDS is located in
Phuttamonthon Nakhon Pathom, Salaya, sai 4 road, Bangkok Thailand. It offers Grade 10-12 the

premier experiences, to provide high quality life-skills based on educated and to enter
Universities of their choices, in and outside Thailand. It is content standards for California Public
School. This school is relatively a new school that just opened in 2013. Now there are just about
400 students in the MUIDS. Clinics and Peer Tutoring are co-curricular activities designed to
prepare students for college entrance exams such as the PSAT, SAT, and TOFEL. As a MUIDS
student, this school emphasizes education but not much on activities. KPIS is located in
Ramintra Road, Bangkhen Bangkok Thailand. It is a small school with high standards and this
school is also internationally accredited by the Western Association of School and Colleges.
There are extra-curricular programs that ensure heir students gain experiences that guide, inspire,
and nourish their individual talents and abilities. There are not much students in KPIS because in
every grade will has only one or two classes. KPIS also has foreign students from many
countries. KPIS will not stick only one thing but will make everything fair. For example, in
every quarter will be have a lot of activities such as every class might have their bands to play in
every quarter and every week of all subjects will have project. This school will give you more
experience.
KPIS School and Vacation
In KPIS, there are many academic such as school day, vacation day, subjects of this
school, number of hours in a week, and extra-curricular. In one year, there are 183 days of school
and 33 days for holiday. KPIS has four quarter or two semesters. Every quarter has examination
and music challenge for every grade. The school will start from 7:30am to 2:30pm so the student
will study six hours and one hour for snack and lunch break. In each day, students will learn
seven subjects. There are 13 subjects in the school but separated between middle school and high
school. For middle school is included Literature Art, Math algebra, Earth-Science, History,

Music, Thai, Computer, PE, Art, Chinese and Health. For high school is included English, Thai,
Math, Science, Social Studies, Computer, Business, PE, Art and Electives. Every year KPIS will
be organize Music Challenge. This mean every school of International school will be condensed
and competing their bands. KPIS also have a Student Exchange Program to Canada. KPIS has
been signed the agreement for academic collaboration on studying abroad opportunities. This
enhancement is for the purpose of providing KPIS students the special situation to study at River
East Transcona School Division, Canada. This school also including House Day, it will be
different from every school because it has every quarter and every Friday of two weeks will be
house day. As a old student of KPIS, there were a activities that I really love, called KPIS Cool
Radio. I like this activity so much because it can improve my English skill and experiences to be
DJ. Every morning I need to play my favorite song and then the Thai national anthem. After that
I made announcement.
MUIDS School and Vacation
Mahidol University International Demonstration School known as MUIDS. This school
actually is still not perfect because it is quite a new school that just opened two years ago and the
students also do not have much. In the future, the number of students would increasing and now
MUIDS is also building a new campus. New campus might fix complete in 2015 and every
student will move to there. With regard to number of school days, there are 202 days of school
and 36 days for holiday. MUIDS emphasized on learner more than activities because grade 10-12
might ready to enter the university. However, MUIDS also include activities such as club every
Wednesday or depending on that club for example, basketball club practices on Monday,
Tuesday, and Thursday. The school starts from 7:30am to 3:40pm. Learning time of this school is
definitely different from other international school. For one day, students learn eight hours and

10 minutes. There are 13 subjects in this school including Biology, History, Math, English,
Buddhism, Thai language, Health, PE, Thai History, Thai Geography, TOFEL, Chemistry, and
electives. For grade 10, student learn only Biology and in Grade 11 learn Chemistry. This
because the first generation of MUIDS learnt Biology and Chemistry in the same time and it is
very difficult for them so next generation need to change.
Conclusion
In conclusion, my goal is to compare school and vacation between two international
school. I discovered that KPIS has 183 days of school and 33 days for holiday and MUIDS has
202 days of school and 36 days for holiday. As my research, most of KPIS student are speaking
English all the time but MUIDS most of student are speaking Thai. In KPIS there are about 60
students that are foreigner but in MUIDS not have. I recommend future researchers to don't
research about two or three school because it will not give you an enough information and
references. So the good way is to compare one school with others school.
