My name is Connor Barnes and I am sixteen years old. I am currently in grade 11 at Notre Dame High School. I
am the eldest son in my family and I have a younger brother who is 14. My favorite courses in school are math and
science. The two science courses I enjoy the most are physics and chemistry. I enjoy them because I like to solve
problems because I enjoy to be challenged with perplexing problems and solve them, I also like doing hands on
experiments because it allows me to get a better understanding of what I am learning, I am finding that I can use
my applied knowledge in certain fields of science are enjoyable and they help me prepare for later in life and my
future schooling. I have been involved in some extracurricular activities such as the school football team and I also
played spring football for the Airdrie Raiders in the Calgary Area Midget Football League. Currently I am
employed at a hockey school that is in the second week of August called The Next Shift Hockey Camp. I have had
volunteer experiences an example of this would be at this years Knights in Training event in early this year. Having
completed my volunteer experience at Knights in training it has allowed me to grow as a mentor. For the last 3
hockey seasons I have had a role helping out with my younger brother's hockey team. My plans for when I
complete high school is to go get my Bachelors of Kinesiology. Once I complete my under graduate studies I
intended to go straight into my graduate studies to get my Bachelors of health and physical eduction-Athletic and
then get some work experience in the field of being a trainer for a professional football team or working in an
atheltic therapy program at a major college down in the United States. I am currently going in Grade 11 this school
year and I will be working towards my goal of becoming an athletic therapist. I intend to be successful in whatever
life throws at me
