Outreach @ The Reach

June 24th 6:30-8:00 pm @ The Reach

1943 Columbia Park Trail. Richland, WA 99352
WERA's Outreach @ The Reach is a social event to bring Eastern Washington and regional educational leaders together to
celebrate the end of the school year, network with colleagues and to learn more about WERAs mission to support educators
across the state. We are excited to include brief updates from key state officials. Bob Butts from OSPI and Gene Sharratt from
the Governor's Office will each share recent developments from Olympia.
Appetizers and a no-host bar will be provided courtesy of the WERA board. Spouses welcome. Please RVSP to weraoffice@gmail.com.
Gene Sharratt is a WERA member and Past President of WERA. Gene is currently the Executive
Director for the Washington Student Achievement Council. Created by the Legislature in 2012, the
Council is the lead state agency bringing together all sectors of the states education system to
improve access, achievement and outcomes for all Washington citizens, from early learning through
higher education. One of the Councils primary duties is building a comprehensive 10-year Roadmap
that will help guide education reform and innovation.

Bob Butts serves as the OSPI representative on our WERA board. Bob is the Assistant
Superintendent for Early Learning and is responsible for working with the Department of Early
Learning, Thrive by Five Washington, Educational Service Districts, and school districts to enhance the
quality of early learning in our public schools.
