Description of the work :

The Sabah paper pulp factory comprises 3 cells. Each cell have
a diameter of 9m and a height of 27m. They showed serious
damage of the reinforced concrete structure: vertical and
horizontal cracking. The solution implented was that of external
additional prestressing.

Freyssinet mission :
There were 3 separate cells, each requiring 101 horizontal loops.
The work of Freyssinet consisted of cutting greased and
sheathed strand, threading the strand into the polyethylene tube,
installing the tendon assembly on the cell wall, and the X
anchorage, to the nominal force, grouting operations, tensionning
operations and a further lift-off check. The anchor assembly was
then protected by a concrete block secured by wire mesh to the
wall. Actual site work started on august 10, 1987 and lasted 6
weeks.
