Perth and Kinross Local Area Commanders Bulletin

Good afternoon, please find details of this weeks commanders bulletin.
A significant week for Perth and Kinross as the T in the Park planning permission
was granted for their move to Strathallan. This will see the community policing team
continue to engage with community before, during and after the event.
Acquisitive crime was the focus towards the end of last week with two house
breakings being reported in the Glasgow Road area of Perth, both these occurred
during the day, where cash and jewellery were stolen.
A historic attempt break in to the fisheries at Pitnacree, Blair Atholl was also
reported and is currently under enquiry.
We would reiterate to members of the public to ensure their property is secure and
be vigilant for suspicious activity, any concerns regarding individuals or vehicles can
be reported by calling 101.
On Friday the community investigation unity continued their good work, executing
two drugs warrants in Perth recovering 12,650 of Cocaine. A 34 year old male and
a 37 year old female were arrested and charged with being concerned in the supply
of class A drugs.
In St Fillans overnight between Friday and Saturday a dingy was stolen. A press
release and community watch have been updated and any information is sought.
An assault took place on Saturday evening in Edinburgh Road Perth, one male
received minor injuries and two males have been identified as responsible.
On Sunday night a pedal cycle was stolen outside Leslie Court, Perth. This is being
investigated and the community policing team is working on an initiative around
stolen bikes and crime prevention.
Overnight on Monday into Tuesday a vandalism occurred at Ainslie Antiques, Perth
whereby two windows were smashed.
During the night between Wednesday and Thursday, in Speygate Perth a motor
vehicle was broken into, and some papers were set a light in the back seat. A 28
year old male has been arrested and charged with this offence.
Overnight on Wednesday into Thursday a deer was recovered in the Dunkeld area,
which had been unlawfully shot and left on a farm track.
I had previously mentioned the death of a 49 year old man in Balbeggie, on
Thursday 23 April and can now report that a 30 year old man has been charged in
connection with the death appeared at Perth Sheriff Court and has been remanded in
custody at HMP Perth.

Finally, as many of may be are aware, former Superintendent Iain Bell died last week
and I would like to express my sympathies to all his friends and family and record the
gratitude of the communities he was so proud to serve.
