In 1947 Hennes womens clothing store opened in Vsters,


Sweden. Today the H&M Group offers fashion for everyone under the
brands of H&M, COS, Monki, Weekday, Cheap Monday and & Other
Stories, as well as fashion for the home at H&M Home. Today there are
over 3,300 stores worldwide in 55 different countries, with fifty-six of
those stores being in Canada.
We divided those stores into three categories, A, B, and C. The
Midnight: A Dark Collection line will be offered in 12 A-level stores and
19 B-level stores. Deciding against providing any stock to C-level
stores was simply because we didnt feel the demographics worked
with our product. Sell-through reports were examined for each of the
levels, and a cohesive agreement was made.
Information Collected from our buyers that helped to select this
store grid were: sell through reports, retail performance reports, net
sales, turnover, markdowns, account analysis and retailer budgets.
These reports show key indicators as to which stores are successful
enough to support the Midnight: A Dark Collection to its highest
potential.
The A and B level stores that will be carrying our line are as
follows:

As previously mentioned, H&M Group offers fashions for


everyone, at every age. H&M Currently offers collections under
the following titles: Women, Men, Kids, Divided, &denim,
Accessories, Underwear, Cosmetics, H&M Home, Sportswear, and
Campaigns and designer collaborations.

Proposed Buy
Considering the Midnight: A Dark Collection is to be considered a
hybrid between collection and collaboration, price points range
from $39.99 99.99. Looking at current H&M collections, specifically
skirts, dresses and tops, we created a price point that falls into the
typical merchandise offered.
As you can see on the proposed buy sheet provided, A-level
stores will be provided more inventory than the B-level stores, again
keeping these numbers consistent with the numbers provided through
previous sell-throughs, turnovers, and much more. We feel customers
shopping in A and B-level stores appreciate the quality and looks we
have provided, much more that those shopping at a C-level store.
The proposed buy provided to you also shows we were able to
keep within the $750,000 budget you provided us, utilizing every dollar
possible.
Product Expansion
From last years sell-through reports, we have decided to expand
upon two of our items sold. A faux-leather skirt as well as a jersey
dress was sold through at 84% and 83%, respectively. We feel these
sell-through numbers are enough evidence to expand on the products
to integrate another bestseller this season.
