Bring fruit into the lesson, get students to identify


the fruit. Discuss how it is good for us, what fruit do
they like to eat. Discuss the shapes of fruit, i.e
Oranges look like circles.
Draw images of fruit on 2Paint, get students to
identify them. Students then to draw their own
images on 2paint.
In addition take students to work with one to one on
how to log onto the laptops.
Using the IWB draw a range of shapes on the board
with different coloured pens. Ask students to identify
the shapes and colours.
Get students to identify shape within the classroom,
e.g. Clock circle, pictures square, table
rectangle.
Explain to students how to use the tuff cams and get
a volunteer to take and pose for a picture. Divide
into 3groups and each group has to take pictures of
a particular shape within the classroom.
Bring students back to the front and go through the
pictures taken.

Activities
Remind students on their behaviour in the ICT suite
and to put their hand up and not shout out. Discuss
rules as a class.
Students to sit on the floor at the front, demonstrate
how to open 2Paint. Discuss colour and clothes that
Santa wears. Show how to draw image of Santa and
a Snowman. Emphasise changing the size of the pen
when doing drawings.
Discuss Christmas with the students, talk about
what things reminds them on Christmas, tree,
decorations, lights, snow, presents etc
Students to sit on the floor at the front, demonstrate
how to open 2Paint. Colour in the background
grey(so they can draw snowdrops). Show how to
draw a Christmas tree using both the triangle
method and also by drawing branches. Emphasise
changing the size of the pen when doing drawings.
Show students work from previous lessons on the
IWB. Discuss general Christmas themes and colours.
With student help draw a simple Christmas tree,
pudding, present and snowman on the board.
Emphasise using the undo button and how to get a
new blank page

Each FS2 teacher give iPads for ICT teacher to


complete.
Use AB Maths- Use the bubbles activity to order
numbers to 10. Students can customise the bubbles
and increase the difficulty. Tasks can be completed
in pairs or individually in order to compete against
each others score
Demonstrate to students how to log onto the
computer, make use of the document camera so
they are familiar with the keys you are pressing.
Emphasise the location of the Ctrl, Alt and Delete
keys, get students to help the person they are
sitting beside.
After logging on, open 2calculate package on their
own. On numerous columns students to enter the
number 1 a few times(must be vertical on the page),
use the addition symbol and more 1s, then the =
symbol followed by the answer.
When finished students to close off 2simple and log
off independently.
Students use 2calculate to number a row of cells
horizontally, they then need to colour in the number
of cells vertically relating to the number in the
column.
Group to be split in half, one group working on
2calculate to insert images of fruit, then total the
number of fruit at the end of the column.
Others half of group to be shown how to log onto
the computer and how to log off. Repeat the process
until they can do it without assistance.
Students log on independently without any
assistance if possible and open up 2calculate
package on their own. They can then use the animal
clipart to learn to count

Activities
In small groups children are introduced to the
Beebot and informed of how to make it move
forward and clear the instructions.
Children sit in a circle and program the Beebot to
move to another person (Camel Teddy) in the circle.
Students are reminded how to use the beebot and
shown examples using the street map and a pot of
honey image. Student shave to navigate the beebot
towards the honey.
More able students are shown how to map their own
route in groups of three using the directional cards.
Students work in groups on separate mats, one
person decides where the beetbot should move to
and the other person has to navigate the beebot to
the chosen location.
Students are divided into groups and each use a
separate mat. Teamwork is discussed prior to
working on the beebots in order to ensure good
progress is made. More capable students are allowed
the opportunity to work independely without the
mat. They guess the number of steps the beebot
needs to take in order to get to a specified location

around, use the spinning tool to do it for us. When

must then act out the same action, whilst another child takes
a picture of this.
