APV RUF3 Check Valves Not Subject to EC ATEX Directive

APV RUF3 check valves were subject to a hazard assessment under consideration of the
relevant harmonized EC standards, Equipment and Product Safety Act and Good Engineering
Practice.

It was established that this valve series does not fall within the scope of Directive 94/9/EC
(ATEX).
According to Directive 94/9/EC, products which do not have their own potential sources of
ignition on the basis of Appendix II, paragraph 1.3, are not considered to be devices as
provided for in Article I, paragraph 3(a). According to Article 10, these products must not
bear the CE marking under Directive 94/9/EC.
