Discussion

The condenser water outlet temperature , t6 ( ) can be reduced if the water is substituted
by a liquid with low specific heat capacity such as alcohol or oil. By this, the temperature of this
liquid could decrease faster than water. Besides that, the expansion valve could also be
removed allowing the hot air to be released and then increase the efficiency of the evaporator to
convert water into vapour. Otherwise, the power input of the compressor could be reduced to
have a low outlet temperature.

Conclusion
The power input increases with the water outlet temperature because of the decreasing mass
flow rate of water. On the contrary, the rate of delivery and coefficient of performance (COP)
decreases when the outlet temperature increases due to lesser heat is being removed by the
cooling water.
