GENERAL GUIDELINES
Purpose/Scope
This work package encompasses all

requirements for commissioning the High


Voltage System.
Precautions
Personnel working with, on, or around the High Voltage
System should observe all applicable electrical safety
guidelines and wear appropriate personal protective
equipment.
GE Energy I&C Representatives do not perform work
on equipment or systems with voltage ratings above 600
VAC. The customer is responsible for providing
qualified individuals or entities capable of installing,
testing and commissioning these systems.

LINE and NEUTRAL SIDE CUBICLES


1.

Check secondary connections of current transformers.

2.

Perform insulation-resistance test.

3.

Verify ratio of current transformers.

4.

Check polarity of current transformers.

5.

Perform fuse continuity test.

6.

Perform circuit burden and function test.

7.

Check inside cleanliness of neutral and lineside cubicles.

8.

Check primary connections to generator.

9.

Check grounding connections.

10.

Check operation of cubicle heaters and thermostats.

THE CUSTOMER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR PROVIDING A QUALIFIED PERSON OR
ORGANIZATION TO PERFORM SECONDARY INJECTION TESTING OF THE
GENERATOR PROTECTION SYSTEM.

Verify trip signal to AVR and generator breaker.

Verify Insulation Resistance Test Results record has been updated.
