Migration in Kazakhstan
Migration as a process on the scale of our country is a problem of developing countries. In
addition, it affects the development of the main cities of Kazakhstan. Internal migration in our
country is not particularly different from other developing countries. Most of the processes of
migration are similar to other states. Internal migration in the scale that we fix in Kazakhstan is
transformed into a mass phenomenon, which can affect the development of the regions and
major cities, especially in Almaty and Astana. This internal migration in Kazakhstan has a
distinctive originality and typical like in many countries. Migration processes in the post-Soviet
space, especially in Central Asia, are very similar and fit into the main trend - urbanization
creates centers of attraction, the village as a socio-economic system degrades link - people in
search of work and a better life "run" in the city. In this city they create a certain vacuum of
employment which, when not structured to attract natural numbers of migrants from rural areas.
However, significant scale, unregulated migration flows "rural-urban", "depressed region prosperous region," accompanied by the formation in the suburbs of major cities "shantytowns"
and marginalization of the population may affect the growth of the potential for conflict. This
situation is a result of out-migration from rural areas to urban settlements. The process of
urbanization, but mainly due to the continuing adverse situation in the agricultural sector, lack of
socio-economic development of the village. Internal displacement in large measure becomes
spontaneous and needs to state regulation. The main cause of internal displacement remains
unfavorable socio-economic situation in their former places of residence - the lack of jobs, the
remoteness of cities, lack of adequate infrastructure of the village, and others.
