Gay Marriage

For many years gay marriage has been illegal. Today 36/50 states have legalized the
unfair law. The first amendment of the Constitution says that we as citizens of the United States
have separation of church and state.(Independence hall Association history) Also in the
Declaration of Independence states that All men are created equal. (Independence hall
Association History) At the end of the day love is love no matter what gender. Its time we open
our eyes and see we are taking away peoples rights and treating them unfairly. We can change
this unfair law and give gay people the right to marry who they love.
In 1791 the Amendment that said church and state is separated was ratified.Also in 1776
the Constitution states All men are created equal and also states that we have the right of life,
liberty, and pursuit of happiness.We arent just violating one of these laws we are breaking all. If
our Constitution and our Amendments says all of these things there is no reason why gay
marriage should be illegal in any state. Gay people are human therefore they are entitled to the
same rights like everyone else.
Many say that gay people chose to be attracted to their same gender. The fact is we
never know if this is true or not. Also if it was we dont know the real reason why they chose to
be gay. For all we could know they could have been violated, abused, or neglected.If these
things have happen and being gay is the way they want to deal with it or makes them feel better,
who are we to judge? They are many people that deal with these problems by drinking and
doing drugs and we as society never take away their right to get married to the one they love.
This simply shows the unfair and illogical side of society.
They are many horrible things that are going on in this world such as terrorism, killings,
bombing, and frauds. We should be focused on what harms society instead of harming people
for what they believe and love.If we spend our time and effort on changing these awful things
instead of taking away the rights of people who didn't commit crimes; the world would be a
better place. Gay marriage is not harming or hurting anyone in anyway. Therefore none of their
rights should be taken away.
The main reason why religious people dont accept gay marriage is due to the fact that
all the passages in the bible say marriage is between a man and woman like Adam and Eve or
like Mary and Joseph. For many centuries we have believed that this is correct, however we are
in a different time period now. The Pope Francis proclaims if we chose not to accept them, than
at least lets not judge them. In the presence of God they will be judged if they have sinned. Us
as religious people its not our right to judge. We should let god do the judging and follow god's
word by accepting others.
Some might say that they dont want to legalize gay marriage due to the fact they believe
its disgusting or makes them uncomfortable. Everyone has the right to feel as they please,
however many would agree that man dating or sleeping with many woman makes them
uncomfortable and even disgusted. However they never get their right to marry someone taken
away.This simply shows how unfair it is to take a gays persons right away just for the fact that
some feel like its grossed out.
Gay marriage should be legalized in not just 36/50 states of the United States but in all
50. Its way past the time we give gay people the rights we have taken away from them for many
years. Lets all open our hearts and eyes and see how their love is no difference than any other.
We have the power to let someone marry who they love so lets all come together and change it.
