Individual rights are the things that the gover nment is entitled
to give the people, and individual freedoms are the abilities
p e o p l e h a v e u n d e r t h e r u l e o f t h e l a w.

Individuals are free to spend their own ear nings on whatever they
please.
Co mpetition
with one another by impr oving products and ser vices, in order to
gain the suppor t of consumers. This competition among businesses
drives the supply and demand cycle, as the supply of the
p r o d u c t s i s d e p e n d e n t u p o n t h e d e m a n d o f t h e c u s t o m e r.
Economic Freedom
E c o n o m i c f r e e d o m c a n b e d e fi n e d a s t h e f r e e d o m f o r p e o p l e t o
choose how to produce, sell, and use your own resources. It is
the key to g reater oppor tunity and an improved quality of
life.
Our par ty believes in economic freedom as it is not the
gover nments right to decide what people do with their personal
wealth. Cer tain ser vices that people decide are necessar y for
the gover nment to provide, will be covered by taxes, but other
e c o n o m i c a ff a i r s w i l l l i e w i t h t h e i n d i v i d u a l .

We b e l i e ve t h a t h u m a n s a r e n a t u r a l ly g o o d , i n t e l l i g e n t , a n d
c a p a b l e o f m a k i n g t h e i r o w n d e c i s i o n s . We t r u s t t h e c i t i z e n s t o
not abuse their rights and freedoms so that the government does
n ot have to inter ve ne and place restrictions. R especting their
rights and freedoms will ensure that the people can remain as the
source of power behind the government.

Our par ty believes that the gover nment exists to maintain a safe
s o c i e t y, w h i l e n o t b e c o m i n g o v e r b e a r i n g o r a d i c t a t o r s h i p . W e
believe that society will work best with limited government

Vision for the Future
John Stewart Mill, who believed the gover nment should not be in
p o w e r i f i t i m p e d e s o n i n d i v i d u a l r i g h t s , i n fl u e n c e o u r p a r t y s
beliefs. This is because he believed that the only limitations that
should exist for an individual would be those that protect the
freedom of others.

The MCPP does not support the abuse and unfair treatment of
worker s, however we also do not suppor t labour unions as they
d i s t o r t e m p l o y e e b e h a v i o r. T h e r e w i l l b e n o t a x d o l l a r s p u t
towards labour unions for this reason.
Old A ge and Pension Plans
Our par ty recognizes the fact that some people may need
assistance in order to sustain life for themselves, or perhaps their
c h i l d r e n . H o w e v e r, t a x d o l l a r s c o l l e c t e d f r o m h a r d w o r k i n g
individuals will not be put towards those who are not making an
a t t e m p t t o i m p r o v e t h e i r s i t u a t i o n . H o w e v e r, i f t h e s e p e o p l e a r e
doing something to rebuild their lives, the government will
provide assistance.

Those who cannot care for themselves will be provided with some
help from the government. Ever yone else must plan ahead of time
to ensure that they will be secure in the future.

I n t h e M C P P, w e b e l i e v e i n e n c o u r a g i n g i n d i v i d u a l i s m r a t h e r t h a n
c o l l e c t i v i s m . We e n c o u r a g e c i t i z e n s t o p a r t i c i p a t e i n e d u c a t i o n ,
politics and expressing their opinions. Through using a
proportional representation election model, citizens will be
encouraged to appreciate the government, knowing they can make
an impact and have a voice. Our par ty encoura ges debate as it
c a p t u r e s t h e e s s e n c e o f d e m o c r a c y, t h e r e f o r e c i t i z e n s w i l l k n o w
that the gover nment respects protests if they are per for med in a
c o u r t e o u s m a n n e r. C i t i z e n s w i l l a l s o b e i n f o r m e d o f t h e
punishments that follow unlawful actions.

C i v i l r i g h t s m o v e m e n t s , s u c h a s w o m e n s s u ff r a g e , w e r e m e t
e v e n t u a l l y b y s u b m i s s i o n . U n f o r t u n a t e l y, t h e r e i s s t i l l g e n d e r
discrimination in the workplace, and people are working to change
this. The MCPP promotes this change and suppor ts campaigns to
do so.
