Proyecto 2014
DESCRIPCIN
Identity. Who are we to ourselves and to the outside world? What do we share about ourselves and
why? This project will answer this while improving your Spanish language skills, no matter your current
communication level. You will learn the benefit of taking the time to translate word by word, without the
use of google translate, and appreciate how much effort goes into changing your thoughts into another
language for others to understand.
PREGUNTAS ESENCIALES
PRODUCTO - ESCRITO
You will answer a question about yourself that gives details about your character. Now that we have had
an introduction to who you are, i.e. your name, your family members names, your favorite color, etc., we
want to know more about your character, your identity. This can come from telling us who your role model
is and why to detailing an accomplishment you are most proud of. You will answer the question in a
minimum of 15 sentences, in English to begin. Once your English draft is complete you will begin the
translation process. This will involve you, a dictionary, and a verb book. No technology! Google translate
will not help you learn Spanish. The process will be challenging and frustrating, but above all it will be
rewarding. After youve written between five and eight (approximation) drafts, and going through the
editing and revision process you will have a deeper understanding of what goes into learning, not
temporarily memorizing, a new language. You will keep every draft to show the process of writing in a
new language, and will be responsible for updating your DP at least once a week.
PRODUCTO - ORAL
You will practice reading your drafts every day. After each draft signed is off you will record yourself
reading your draft on a macbook. This process will allow you to aurally and visually see yourself
improving with grammar and pronunciation. You will compile the videos into one and email it to me. It is
your choice to share this with the class or to keep it private; I understand and respect some of choosing to
write about very personal topics.
