Competency A Professionalism and Understanding:


You demonstrated very satisfactory professionalism and sound understanding
of the subject matter. You seem to have established very good rapport with
the students and your MST. Please, ensure that your MST is present when I
come for the next visit - I'd like to witness how you relate to each other and
also to have her critical observer perspective on your execution of the lesson.
Category B Planning for Learning:
A very satisfactory lesson plan was forwarded in time before the lesson. The
material and content of the lesson were appropriate for the class level.
However, You should tighten up on statement of learning outcomes
ambiguity in the first and third. The accompanying teaching aids demonstrate
very careful planning for this lesson.

Category C Implementing and Managing Learning:


The lesson began promptly at 08:20 am. You did well to require the attention
of all the learners before beginning the instructions. The learners were
quickly engaged in a quick review of previously covered material. Then the
lesson objective was presented to the class. The first activity involved
volunteers completing a quick jigsaw puzzle on the board with the main
actions under the INSERT function. The follow-up activity involved a quick
demonstration review of the insert function. Getting volunteer learners to the
board to show how clip art can be inserted in a document was a good idea.
However, it could have been even more efficient if the icon ribbon was child
friendly so that they could click on the commands for themselves. Then the
class was asked to open a word document and insert the images: Computer
and Bus. After this, the learners were introduced to how to insert pictures and
format the image to include a boarder. Then the learners were instructed to
insert a picture entitled: "Mother". The learners were for the most part able to
complete the task. Finally, the learners were learners were required to log on
to Todaysmeet.

Category D Monitoring and Assessment of Learning:


You used Q & A to very good effect to engage the learners and elicit desired
responses. You did well distributing calls for responses around the class and
targeting learners by name to give responses. You also did very well to allow
for a more able learner to help her peers.

Category E Reflection:
You were able to reflect on your execution including the challenges you faced
during the lesson. Spot on that you had a challenge monitoring.

Strengths of the Lesson:


The main strengths of this lesson were: Exemplary classroom control,
excellent rapport with the learners, learner engagement, use of Q & A, pacing
of activities, and quality of teaching aids.
Areas for Development:
Ensure that you are able to monitor the progress of all the learners especially for those sitting further back from the board.
Focus for next lesson:
Ensure that the students are given more opportunities to demonstrate
understanding of target concepts and knowledge.
