Competency A Professionalism and Understanding:

You demonstrated very satisfactory professionalism in setting up the appointment for the visit. You did
well to quickly make adjustments for extra students who did not have a PC to themselves.

Category B Planning for Learning:

A satisfactory lesson plan was forwarded in time before the lesson. However,
you should distinguish between the Teaching Goal and specific learning
objectives.

Category C Implementing and Managing Learning:

The lesson began about eight minutes after the scheduled time - due to an
extended morning assembly. The learners were quickly engaged in a review
of the content covered in the previous lesson. Then the learners were
engaged in a game involving casting a dice and responding to a question
about the parts of a PPT template. The learners were generally engaged but
some of the learners at the back could have been more involved if the game
required that they do something in response - it is very easy for young
learners to be distracted if they do not have specific tasks to complete. The
next activity was an individual task to complete a in a PPT. Most of the
learners could launch PPT and insert text, it and change the template design
and add a new slide. The learners were also able to add animation and launch
a PPT slide show. There was a lot of down time towards the end as the roll
was called - you might want to allow for more demanding activities to keep
the. Learners occupied. Finally, the learners were given a puzzle to decipher
in groups.

Category D Monitoring and Assessment of Learning:

You did very well using Q & A to elicit responses from the learners. It was also
a good idea to get the savvy learners - especially the two girls in police
uniform to help their peers complete the task - allowing form peer to peer
scaffolding can be very effective.

Category E Reflection:
Your reflection about the challenges of managing a large class. You also did
very well to note the need to adjust your warm-up activity.

Strengths of the Lesson:

The main strengths of this lesson were: Very good rapport with the learners
and learner participation.
Areas for Development:
Ensure that you are able to monitor the progress of all the learners especially for those sitting further back from the board.
Focus for next lesson:
Ensure that the students are given more opportunities to demonstrate
understanding of target concepts and knowledge.
