I create a very safe environment for the students with respect for both me and the equipment. I set high standards for every child as I believe everyone is capable of achieving great outcomes if they work at it. I have been told that I am constantly professional by memebers of staff within the department. Within my lessons most students make expected progress with some sometimes doing more than expected. I am able to adapt my teaching when
needed to suit a variety of students. I am aware of how children develop and how they all progress at different rates. I have worked with a variety of SEND students and adapted my teaching to suit them also.
I have had few opportunities for assessment.
The assessment I have done has been the schools policy of using 2 stars and a wish. I have also used peer assessment within class so students create targets to work towards. My lessons have clear rules in accordance with the schools policy. I set and implement high expectations for behavior for learning. My classes are managed effectively allowing them to flow to a fast pace. I have clear authority within lessons and am not afraid to use the schools sanction policy. I have gained opportunities to fulfil wider professional duties both taking rugby and registration sessions. I have built strong relationships with colleagues. I have worked with TAs within the classroom to support students. I also try to take on all feedback and act upon it as necercsary. S.J.Furness
Overall Grade
I need to develop my work with
EAL students not having much of an opportunity in this school means I havent worked closely with any. Also I need to gain greater knowledge and be able to use techniques more subconsciously. And also to develop more resources for a wider audience. Create more opportunity to do detailed assessment
I need to become more consistent
with theses points and really cut out the low level disruption which occurs on occasion.
Within the next placement
try and work with EAL students to gain knowledge of how they learn in an English school. Also work and do some further reading into the conditions the students have in greater detail so that I as a teacher can spot these earlier and react to them more effectively. Provide a wider variety of activities for students to complete in which I can mark in greater detail and also mark some practical work as well. To try and build on the techniques I have just learnt and implement them to cut out the low level disruption.
I need to work on gaining more
communication with students parents. This has been done slightly using good comments within planners but I havent had any other opportunity to do so.
