Twenty 20

Health & Food

Did you know that cricket is one of the

oldest sport in the world? Mankind have
been playing international games since
1844. Although, it was first played in
southern England in the 16th century.
Apparently, the British Empire was the one
to spread cricket Across the world. Cricket,
a sport very much like baseball invented
in 1839, is still being played today. There
are a few different kinds of of cricket. You
are about to find out what they are now.

Twenty 20, known as the ?short game,?

was created for people who couldn?t sit
down for a day, watch the T.V. and only
felt like watching for 3-4 hours. Also, they
wanted to make it match up with the time
of a Soccer or Rugby match. Plus they
wanted to get more people to watch the
fast & furious version of cricket. And yes,
Twenty 20 is just how it sounds, twenty
overs a side. Frankly, it was only invented
in 2003! Stunning time to start right?

Surprisingly, cricket players eat, as an

average, every 2-3 hours. I was stunned!
They hardly ever have a meal without
fruits and veggies. They often have green
tea and, just like every sport, water.

Test Cricket

Conclusion
In conclusion, ?Cricket? is a sport and a
Bug/ Insect. This article was about the
sport! Here?s a question, If you have
already started playing cricket or your
about to start then, have you ever hit a
century in Cricket?

Training
Cricket players enjoy having little 10 minute runs
every now and then. The reason for that is because
at some point players sprint as fast as Usain Bolt
does to stop the rolling ball from whacking the rope
in the face. And in cricket, if the ball rolls onto the
boundary line its four runs for the opposition and if
it doesn't bounce and just comes straight off the bat
and hits the boundary line or goes over, it's a six!
Another way professionals train is to use ?Rebound
Catch?. Training, the reason most cricket players
don?t pull a muscle, is the one reason cricket players
are fit and athletic

OneDay Internationals
One day internationals started in the 1970?s, at first they
had a test match between Australia & England. The first
three days were rained out. To start with, they didn?t know
what to do, but after a bit of thinking, they thought they
could play a shorter version of cricket. The Cricket council
named it ODI. The rules of ODI are: 1 inning per side (two
innings in total). Each inning is limited to 50 overs. Although
the first ODI, was 60 overs per inning. (Australia won by 46
runs)

Word Wise
Innings- An ?Innings? is: when one side is batting for the first time in the match it?s called their first innings. Same with the other team. To switch the innings around so the other team is aloud to bat, the
opposition that is not batting either has to bowl all 10 players out. Or if the batting team runs out of overs before they are all out.
Century- A century is when a bat?s men reaches one hundred runs without being bowled.
Ashes- The Ashes is when England and Australia go against each other in a test match. The reason its called the Ashes is because the first test match that was ever played was England and Australia and
at the end of the match they burnt the Bails.
ODI- ODI stands for One Day International.
Overs- An over passes every six balls that have been bowled.
Bails-The bails is the top of the Stumps. If the bowler hits the stumps and the bails come off. then the bats man is out. but if the bails don?t come off or on the rare occasion that the bails land back on
top of the stumps then the bats man is out.
Stumps- The stumps is the three sticks behind the bats man.
