Introduction:
This document will demonstrate a help guide of How to print for users that are beginners. It
will include three different sections which are: how to print, prepare your printer, create or open
a document and finally some troubleshooting for some issues the users may face.

Print a document
This section will simply explain how to print a word document and will explain the options in the
print dialog screen
1. Open the document you want to print.
2. Click "File" on the taskbar, (located at the top left of the screen).
3. Select Print for the options displayed (print dialog screen will popup).

Note: make sure the printer is switched on, connected and loaded with paper.

Copies and Pages
1. Printer : To Select the printer you would like to send your document to.
2. Number of copies : To choose how many copies of the document to wish to print
3. Pages range: To print certain pages in the document (Example 2, 5-7, in this example
the pages that will be printed are 2, 5, 6, and 7).
4. From-To: To print consecutive pages (for example from page 1 till 7).
5. Show quick preview: to show a quick preview for the document you would like to
print.
6. Preview: to view the whole document pages before print them.

Page Setup
Page Setup has two main options to modify the document which are Page Orientation and
Paper Size.
1. In the same Print Dialog Screen press on

a. Paper size: to change the paper size for example A4, B5, or letter size.
b. Orientation: to change the orientation either from portrait to landscape or other way
round.
3. Choose the preferred paper size and the orientation, then press

Microsoft Word
Microsoft Word is an option to deal with the setup and orientation of the page.
1. Within the Printer Dialog Box click on the drop-in menu.

2. Select Microsoft Word to edit your document. Then the following options should
show up to you.

3. There are three options to print; all pages, even pages, or odd pages, choose one of
the options.

to start printing the document.

Layout
1. In the Print Dialog Box, from the drop down menu choose Layout.

Pages per sheet: To chooses the number of sheets to be printed in one page.

Border: To choose a suitable border for your document.

Connect a Printer:
Check if your wireless printer is connected to the computer you wish to print.
Note: if the printer is already connected to the computer. Please ignore this part.

Check before printing

Confirm that wireless is enabling on your printer and computer.


Check if the printer contains enough papers.
Check if the printer is powered on.
Check the printer manufacture website to make sure you have the most current drives for
your printer.

Note: Parts are explained with steps below in the troubleshooting part.

Open or create a document:


Create a document:
1. From the dock applications located at the bottom of the Screen, click on Applications.

A pop-up window will show up to you, find the Word icon then click on it.
Type what you want in the document.
Go to File from the Word toolbar.
Choose Print to start print your document.

Open a document:

Go to File from the Word toolbar.


Press on Open.
Choose the Word Document you want to open.
Now click on File again, and then press on Print to start Printing.

Troubleshooting Section
Add a printer

To add a printer, 3 select the printer option in the print dialog screen.
Press on the add option.
Select the printer you want add.
Press Add.

Print a Test Page


1. Go to system preferences

2. Press on Printer & Fax

3. Select the printer you want to print the test page from it.

4. Click on Print Queue


5. Select Printer from the toolbar.
6. Choose Print a test page.

Checking the Drivers


Check the printer manufacture website to make sure you have the most current drives for your
printer, or download the drivers from the CD provided in with your printer.

Download or update the printer driver from the website:

Enter the manufacture website.


Enter your printer name in the search box.
Install the latest update of the driver.

Install the driver from the printer CD:

Insert the Printer CD in your device.


Follow the steps presented in your screen.
At the end of the instructions, the driver must be installed in your device.

NOTE: if the driver does not been installed, try to restart your device and re-install
the driver from the CD.

Check your print queue

In system Preferences, click Print& fax.


Click the open Print Queue button.
Click a print job to select it.
Use the following buttons to manage the print job:
- Resume: continue a paused print job.
- Delete: cancel a paused print job.
If you made any changes, try to print again.

Press Compatibility Check to make sure the document is compatible with other versions of
Word.

The papers being printed are colorless?


If yes, check the ink in your printer. Try to refill or buy new ink that is proper to your printer.
NOTE: use the help guide provided with your printer, to know how to take-out and
place-in the Printer Ink.
