Student Contract
Behavioral Expectations
1. Be polite and respectful to all.
2. Do not disrupt the learning of others.
3. Make behavioral choices that promote a fun, safe, and caring classroom.
Behavioral misconduct will be handled in the following manner.
Strike 1: Student will be asked to stop the behavior that violates an expectation listed above.
Strike 2: Student will be asked a second time to stop the behavior and reflect in the classroom
cool off area. The teacher will meet privately with the student and discuss the situation and
agree on a resolution.
Strike 3: A note will be made in the students classroom folder and parents will be notified.
Parents, students, and teacher may agree on an amendment to the signed behavior contract based
on specific needs.

Academic Expectations
1. Late work - Students will be notified of assignment due dates. Due dates will be included on
the classroom calendar. Students are expected to complete work in a timely manner to
facilitate learning. Late work will be accepted up to the FINAL DUE DATE as specified by
the teacher. Work not turned in by the FINAL DUE DATE cannot be used in final
assessment, will be entered in the grade book as an INCOMPLETE, and may not be used to
demonstrate proficiency of standards.
2. Absent work - Students will be responsible for making up work missed due to absences. If
a student has a planned absence, they may request assignments prior to date of absence.
Work not turned in by the FINAL DUE DATE cannot be used in final assessment, will be
entered in the grade book as an INCOMPLETE, and may not be used to demonstrate
proficiency of standards..
3. Grading policy Homework and in-class practice, complete or incomplete (10 %). All computational work
must be shown for credit. Grading will be standards based on a 4.0 scale.
90% - 100% complete =
80% - 89% complete =
70% - 79% complete =
69% - below complete =

Achievement Assessments: Chapter Quizzes and Unit Tests (60 %). Grading will be
standards based on a 4.0 scale, see below

Performance Based Assessments (30%). Project based learning units will be graded using a
specified rubric. The rubric will be provided to the students completion of the project and a
scored rubric will accompany the final grade. Performance assessments will be based on a
4.0 scale.

Student Contract:
I __________________________________________, a student in Mrs. Rauchs classroom,
have read and understand the above classroom expectations. I understand that it is
important to abide by the expectations in order to facilitate a fun, healthy, and safe
learning environment for myself and others. Additionally, I understand that failure to meet
the behavioral expectations cited above will be result in consequences of Strikes 1, 2, or 3 as
stated above and may require an agreed upon amendment to this contract.
