Dear, Ms.Barbara Boxer,
I am writing the letter because I believe we have a major issue on our immigration laws in the US, there is
one in specific I'm going to talk about is SB 1070 (Arizona Law). The law SB 1070 is a law that gives
police's permission to stop immigrants or people who look like immigrants and ask them questions about
where they were born ETC...Most of the examples I'm going to talk about have to do with lots of
discrimination and racism towards immigrants and people who look like immigrants. Another reason that
we are doing this assignment is because our teacher wanted us to be in a position where were are the
ones who are getting discriminated and to try to stop the discrimination and writing the letter to you to
abolish the cause and to let there to be a good effect not a bad one. I'm writing this letter because people
like you who work in the government should really fix your laws and need to abolish the racism,
discrimination and all the other crap we don't need in this country, lets try to call the law off and worry
more about the war between you and Isis. One other issues about the law that I vary disagree about is
when the police stop the victim for reasonable suspicion and asks where are your papers but he's been
living at Arizona over 3 years and has to be deported and are being taken away from their families.
Therefore, they are ruining their economy in their state because after the first year from the law being
passed 141 million dollars have been lost in their state. So since they lost most of their money for not
letting immigrants live in their state the loss the tourism in their state because of how disrespectful and
racist that state is to anyone who looks or sounds like an immigrant. The impact on Arizona's tourism
industry in the first year after S.B. 1070 went on the books included the loss of an estimated
$233 million in economic output, $9.4 million in tax revenues, and 2,761 and that's a big
issue on losing money in their state. Also, why can't we just fix this type of issues like the other
major issues like woman suffrage and, all the Slavery Issues we had in the past. One of the many reasons
why I am against this law is because it gives more privileges to the police to discriminate and deport them back to

Mexico or where they came from. This helps whites because they can call the police they are stopping Mexicans and
African Americans from being arrested or being stopped for reasonable suspicions. Police men are allowed to take
Latinos or, other races into custody just because of how they look and sound. They will have a suspicion that they
are illegal and will have too deported them leaving them from their family. One of the many reasons why I am

passed to give police the privilege to stop anyone who looks or sounds suspicious. Let me rephrase that
for you this law gives the police a privilege to stop and arrest a person for being Latinos, African
Americans, Asian and etc. So, if you wanted to live in a state (Arizona) where you get arrested for looking
and sounding different than the whites then go ahead and live in that state but you're only going to be
treated differently like getting discriminated and even tried to be forced out of the state from the violence
and racism from them. So join me to defend our Country and help us to abolish racism and discrimination
to help other who are getting discriminated. Maybe you guys can at least think about the people your
serving and listen to what their saying. American Immigrants are getting arrested by racist police men and
getting physically assaulted for example Michael Brown he got shot six times for taking out Skittles but the
police guy thought it was a gun and then shot him six times. When taken to court the police men was not
guilty and then people who supported the help for Michael made a riot and burned and robbed lots of
buildings. That is one of the many big issues which might happen again if police keep on stopping
immigrants in the US. Therefore, the government needs to try to prevent these actions and make the
country to a riot free zone. Thank you so much for taking your time from work reading my letter to you and
also my fellow classmates.
Sincerely,
Neptaly Carlos
