Name: Patrick

Step 1: Explain the question or problem to be tested.

Background knowledge/research/
observations Ive already made about the topic

My observations that I already made are that a pitagora suichi is not easy to make.
And I that the normal pitagura suichis take actualy a realy long time.
Another backround information is that pigatura suichi is from japan.
Students in japan do it for there final study. Find mor out open this link:

Write a question or describe a problem I want to test with my experiment:

To write a question, use this format: How does ---- affect ---?
To describe a problem, use some version of the word effect or affect
We wanted to test 3 things:
1. How much trys its going to take until theres a fluent one?
2. How long it will take to get trough the Parkour
3. How long it will take to build the Parkour

Step 2: Formulate & Explain your Prediction

What I think could happen and why?

My prediction is That the book part wont work and that the catapult will not flick.
I thought that the kinetic energy of the ball would not be strong enough to flick the books.

Step 3: Design method (your steps)

Materials:
Quantity/
Number
(how many
do you
need)

Size

Object

(when
necessary)

(include a picture if it is helpful)

Soft ball
thick b
ALLOT
cacards
erasser
scissor
counter

Rulers

Card paper and card boxes

Chip counter

Eraser

1 roll

Tape

Scissor

Card boxes

3 books

2 used tape rolls (or one big one)

allot

Paper cards

Methods:
What are the steps in your experiment?
Description of what to do

Picture or diagram
(if it is helpful to explain how to do the step)

1.

Make a cage for the ball that when you lift one edge
the ball will fall out out

2.

Build up 3 books that are standing in a row.

3.

Place a hard object that can hit the tape roll

Which will follow its track to knock the erraser

4.

Make a tunnel of rulers that the eraser will the fall down
to hit the slingshot.

5.

Build a sling shot und the tunnel with a counter to get

knocked.

6.

Then add a counter for the ruler and your finished!

7.

What warnings, if any, might you need to make in doing this experiment?
In our experiment the warning is that if you have a little kid you need to watch out for some object that the
little kids can swallow.

Step 4: Explain possible changes

To identify your CHANGES:
What changes could be made to give you a clearer picture?
Adding or removing equipment, changing the materials or the environment, etc
That' the first time we did it so didnt work but then we stabilised it and then it worked.

Step 5: Interpret & Explain Results

Experiment results
Make a list of the results that you noticed/observed or
calculated from the experiment

Conclusions
For each result, write what the results might mean
(you might have to do some scientific research for this step!)

That it worked about the 3 time write but the other

times not.

It was a fun experiment and it really worked.

Our result for question 1:

The answer to question 1 is:
It took us four trys until there was a fluent one.

My key learning was that I have to be more

organized and not get stressed or to the time
pressure zone.

Our result for question 2:

The answer to question 2 is:
It took 8 seconds to get through the Parkour.

These are the energys that are used in the

experiment:
Elastic energy, kinetic energy, potential energy,
chemical energy, mechanical energy.

Our result for question 3:

The answer to question 3 is:
It took us about 15 30 minutes to build and invent
our pitagura suichi.

In this unit I leaned much about not to get stressed

And to keep calm.

Step 6: Further Questions

What might you still be wondering about
your problem/research question?

I am still wondering about how long it takes for a

real pitagura suichi that the students in senior
school make.
