KG2 Student Led Conferences

Dear families,
On the 24th of June we will be holding student led conferences. This will
give the students of KG2 the opportunity to share their learning with
their family.
Your child will be the star of the show during this time and will take you to
a number of different stations that will be set up in our classroom, where
he or she will show you what we have been learning about in school and
reviewing their portfolio. There will be a number of activities at each
station which we will expect the children to complete and we will be
providing parents with questions to ask their child in each area.
There will be 4 other families circulating our classroom during this time
and although I will be there to support the children in the background, I
will not take an active role in the conference.
Children will be expected to visit the classrooms of all of their specialist
teachers as well as the homeroom. The centers in the classroom will take
45 minutes after which the next families will enter. Specialist centers will
take between 5-7 minutes each so you should plan to be at school for
approximately 90 minutes per student.
This is an extremely valuable opportunity for the children to share their
strengths, their achievements, and acknowledge the goals they have set
for next year.

What do we expect from parents?

Please turn up at your allocated time with your child. We ask that younger
siblings are kept at home on this day, we want the focus to be on your
superstar child during this time!
Please allow your child to lead the conference, listen to their explanations,
join in with activities, and ask the questions laid out in each area.

This conference should not involve the classroom teacher, so for any
parents that need to schedule a private meeting, this can be arranged
separately on the 25th of June.
I look forward to seeing you on the 24th of June.
Ms Karen
