Students of Origins High School can expect many changes for the school n
ext year. According to John Banks, Origins High School principal, one of the big
gest changes will be giving junior students a variety of new classes, expanding
some programs the school already offers and a possible new morning meeting time
for some students.
Some of the programs being expanded here in Origins High School will inc
lude the music program. The music program may also be expanded into a full class
for students to take in their Junior year. According to Mr. Banks, some of the
new programs that will be introduced in the the next school year include, an int
ernship program, as well as, a college courses program. The internship program w
ill allow students to get work experience in a profession that may be considerin
g to go into full time after high school or college. On the other hand the colle
ge course offers students to take classes at a local college and see what its lik
e to be a college student and as well as, gain learning experience in a topic of
their choice. According to Ms. Castillo, she believes that these programs can e
nrich student learning.
Another one of the major changes include morning meeting. Students in th
eir junior year may have to have a morning meeting in the afternoon or after lun
ch. In a small survey, most students oppose the change, because they believe it
causes a problem for them. Here are most of the changes for Origins High School.
