My Vision for Waggle Inside

the Classroom
In my classroom, learners are encouraged to be themselves.
No two people are the same. No two people learn at the same
level and pace. Waggle understands this.
Waggle allows learners to learn at their own pace, gain
valuable feedback, and rewards them for their effort and
proficiency on assignments.
Technology is our future. Our learners are our future.
Incorporating technology to prepare our learners for not only
standardized tests, but for the future, is my primary focus.
Waggle helps students get excited to use computers as well as
educating them at their own pace at the same time!

Grade Levels, Content, and

How Learners Stay Engaged
Its not about WHAT the students get wrong. Its about HOW and WHY did they get it wrong.
Grades 3-8 for both Math and E.L.A.
Every practice item (Math or E.L.A.), Waggle provides up to 5 hints to help any struggling learner
achieve success.
Provides instant feedback so that learners know and understand exactly what they are doing
right/wrong.
Recommends activities that are at the right level of challenge for each learner. By partnering with
Knewton, Waggle takes into account everything that a student does in order to make a
recommendation.
Learners are unable to move on to the next problem until they first accurately answer the problem they
are on. This is to put greater emphasis on working through a problem multiple times without giving up.
Lift Meter
Shows learners the standards, skills, and goals that they have reached.
Learners are only moving forward or up, never backwards

Personal Reflection

To reflect on this assignment, I truly enjoyed learning about Waggle. Mass Customized
Learning is a popular topic in education today and Waggle is just that. I love the idea
of being able to truly differentiated for each of the learners in my classroom and
providing for them the very best education possible.
What Did I Learn?
One of the main things I learned is that if you want to really differentiate for each of your
learners, there is software out there that can help you do just that! What we are doing
currently in our classrooms today is NOT differentiated instruction. We are accustom to
differentiating for a group of learners, but not for each INDIVIDUAL learner. Thankfully, there
are software packages, like Waggle, that allow learners to learn in a true personalized learning
environment.
