A Message from the Counselor:

I feel both honored and privileged to have been chosen to work with
your students for the 2014-2015 school year. I am overjoyed to be here
and looking for ward to helping each of your children reach their
academic, career, and personal/social goals!
The School Counseling Program that I have developed not only involves
more one-on-one time with each student, but parents, families,
educators, and administrators all coming together to promote student
achievement. Collaboration with teachers at our school was and will
remain a key component in developing lesson plans. Recent studies have
shown innumerable benefits of reaching all students at once through
educational lessons provided. We have also undergone critical updates to
ensure that all students will have the tools necessary for success. At our
school, we will follow ASCA standards to ensure equitable access to
opportunities and rigorous curriculum for all students to participate fully
in the educational process. We are not here to become involved only in a
time of need, but to make learning enjoyable and rewarding for each
individual throughout their entire academic career.
One of the components that I would like to see students take advantage
of is our Passionate About ME Program. Brand new this year, we will be
part icipat ing in more career f airs, field t rips, pare nt career
communication days and even internships! We are asking for parent
volunteers to participate to help inspire students to find their true
passion at a very early age. Various local companies that have signed on
recently announced how excited employees are to participate. We are
eager to encourage students to look now, early in their academic career,
so that they have the ability to understand what it is that motivates
each of them to succeed.
Any student may request to meet with me or they can be referred by a
teacher, administrator, or parent/guardian. I greatly encourage you to
reach out if you have any concerns with your child or even just to be in
contact at an early point. I am thrilled to be here and looking for ward to
working with you and your children this school year!
Warm Regards,
Heather Zeoli

Through endless collaboration in an effort to

Passionate About ME!

Our Passionate About ME! Program was developed in
hopes to create an early focus for career minded
indi viduals. We plan to introduce all students
(Kindergarten through fifth grade) to the various
possibilities of career options, to motivate students
to find their true passion through exploration and
hands on activities, and to help students understand
the uniqueness of each individual and become more
knowledgeable of oneself.
The idea is to provide our students with innumerable
opportunities to explore within each field available
including: Agriculture, Food & Natural Resources;
Architecture & Construction; Arts, Audio/Video
Te c h n o l o g y & C o m m u n i c a t i o n s ; B u s i n e s s ,

Upon fifth grade graduation, before entering the
middle school, students will help to implement and
plan an end of the year Career Day, which will involve
community and business representatives, parents/
guardians, teachers, administrators, and counselors.

What Does a School

Counselor Do?
A Counselor
Visits my classroom to help me understand myself
and others.
Works with small groups on study habits, selfconcept, divorce, conflict resolution, and improving
academic performance.
Meets with new students to help them adjust to our
school.

Here at our school we operate as a team in every aspect

of what we do. We will not tolerate bullying of any sort
and ask that all students be respectful and stand
together in order to achieve all goals at hand. Lessons
are incorporated on an as needed basis and if we find
that there may be an issue in a particular area, that
area will be addressed immediately.

Explains test scores to parents, teachers, and

students.
Talks with parents and teachers.
Provides a safe, comfortable environment for
everyone to enjoy.

WORKS WITH ALL STUDENTS!
